Why the hell do people where sandals & flip flops!!!!!!

The only time i wear flip flops is when I'm at home, at the beach or at the pool. Every other time I wear shoes because I find them more comfortable.

I don't understand how you can hate seeing other peoples feet that much. Have you never gone to a pool or water park in your life?

24 years on this earth and I've never owned nor worn a pair of sandals, open toe or otherwise. Even when I was a very very very young child and my mom would try and get some for me I wasn't having it.
Same here.

i see big fat guys/girls with blue nails and toes that are bigger than their big toe wearing flops all the time and i want to fucking punch them in the face..

So the issue is not with feet, but with fat people showing parts of their body. Well, why don't you start a movement to make those people cover up every single part of their body?

A pair of nice, well made flip flops can look nice and even dressy (Hawaiian wedding, linen suit, for example) but the adidas shower shoes are just Athlete's Foot farms. They tell me immediately that a person is retarded or in a fraternity.

My feet sweat like a fat man in shoes and make social situations very smelly and awkward.

My sandals have collected so much sweat that it just smells awful when I don't have my feet in them.

:lol Cool thread.

I used to feel the same way until I got some flip flops from Aldo. They're just comfortable and easy to throw on when you gotta run out. Especially if you don't have ugly feet...:lol

To each his own, I got to the point where I simply don't give a damn what anyone thinks about what I have on. I developed my own sense of style and my #1 rule is comfort. I don't catch a lot of weird looks due to where I live. Hint: Fools are wearing Tims in 100 degree weather. :D

I love my cheap ass flip flops, I wear them every day (except to work). Even if I have to travel long distances. I love them.

I also never understand why so mnay people wear flip-flops all the time. I mean, it's okay once in a while (i.e going to the beach) but so many people make it a part of their outfit. My Gf does this. She'll wear some really good looking clothe and spoil it all with a pair of ugly flip-flops. Then she complains that her feet and back hurt.

I always make it a point to wear shoes/sneakers. The outside world is very dirty.

And what is up with people wearing flip-flops/sandals to bars and college parties? Don't they know that the chances of getting stepped on and having beer spilled on you (not to mention sweat, cigarrete buds, and herpes) goes thru the roof when at these kind of events?

I've never been to a party where they were spilling herpes on people. Most running shoes aren't waterproof regardless and getting beer off your feet's easier than extracting it from a tennis shoe.

That aside, flip flops aren't automatically uncomfortable or bad for your back. You just need a quality sandal.

In places were its super hot, or in asia where you have to take your shoes off all the time anyways I can see why people wear them.

I hated them too before but if you take care of your feet and find a comfortable pair whats the problem?

I rock them them with "tabi" also, japanese socks with a split for you big toe.

OK, when I lived in San Francisco, I never wore flipflops in my daily life (after I was 9, that is). However, after moving to San Diego, they are so very much needed. Way too convenient, way too useful, and way too suited for the vacation atmosphere.

Also, how else am I supposed to open my beer?

(or carry my 3oz of whiskey...and no, I'm not kidding)

Oh, and if the sight of nearly bare feet makes you cringe, you'll hate these things.

Some cheap fifteen dollar flip flops can pretty much go with any casual attire, not to mention you never have to worry about a pair of pants bunching up around the ankles. Now that shit's annoying.

Oh and it makes the constant Florida heat less miserable.

They're comfortable, easy to take off, and my feet don't look like they've recovering from some horrible accident.

Only time I'm ever uncomfortable wearing sandals is when I have to go to a public men's bathroom. I always ask the people at the urinals next to me to watch the spray.

i'm for flops if good-looking girls with nice feet are wearing them.

I second that. Nothing cuter than a cute girl wearing flip flops and her feet are well taken care of. And darker girls with red or burgundy nail polish :D Or light skinned girls with cherry red or black nail polish :D

I wear them because when I take them off my feet smell like shit but I like the smell because others don't like it and it works perfectly to my advantage at driving intolerant smellers away from my nomadic kingdom.

I dont get the big deal about seeing someone's feet. Most feel look....normal. I've never seen someone who has really bad looking feet like that one in the pic castle posted.

Ballerina flats are the cutest. Flip flops just look sloppy.

I was on the train here in NYC last week and this guy with the most disgusting looking feet ever came on...nails were thick and gray and nasty, heel and pretty much the whole foot was ashy as hell, and he had the nerve to be in business attire, complete with suitcase. And there are plenty of women with busted ashy feet who expose them as well.

Any way you slice it, it looks tacky, it sounds retarded when the person is walking, and as far as i'm concerned the foot is a utility, not a fashion hub.

I don't have ugly feet or anything, but wearing sandals/flip flops is comparable to walking around barefoot--something I don't do in front of strangers.

Feet aren't naughty bits, you know. I'm wondering what parent or guardian made you think feet were somehow inherently dirty. You're aware that for most of his existence that man has either been barefooted, sandaled, or moccasined. Hard soled shoes are a relatively new invention.

I spend most of my time barefoot. I'd never put on shoes but society has forgotten the joy of naked feet. Naked. Dirty. Nasty. Feet.

Your feet will thank you for using either during summer. Seriously I try to avoid using any kind of shoe during summer because they'll just drench my feet on sweat.

Because they're comfortable, low maintenance, and it's almost always 90+ degrees and change out here. If you don't like seeing feet, keep your head up.

I can kinda see where your coming from I never wore sandals either that is untill last week when my wife bought me a nice pair I was hesitant at first but she said she tought I would look sexy in them so I caved in and let me tell you I do not want to ever wear shoes ever again even the usual foot pain i get fom work is gone! BTW I live near the beach and I can't beleive I hadn't done this earlier .

I find sandals more comfortable than shoes, especially in hot weather. I don't give a fuck what you think.

Edit: Since when did the word censor go off?

I have a nice pair of leather flip flops and I wear them all the time. My feet felt perfectly fine after a full day of walking around Disneyland this past weekend.

dude sandals and flip flops rule.

the last time I wore shoes was probably a year ago at some wedding.

What the hell? Sandals and flip flops are fine. People been wearing it since forever. There's nothing wrong with it. Now Crocs on the other hand...if you're not a kid, or on your feet at all times, well...

I didn't really like the idea of open footwear until two years ago. I still don't regularly wear flip flops or sandals to public, but I'm fine with it. I wear flip flops occasionally for quick trips to the grocery store or such, but still not very often. I recently bought myself a pair of Timberland sandals that have a few holes in them for ventilation while still closing off the heel and toes. I love them.

I never knew ppl even had a problem with flops. :lol :lol :lol

Seriously, anytime when I'm not in work, flops are the preferred footwear. Who stares at feet anyway, and sometimes, sexy feet can be a little bit of a turn on.

:lol :lol :lol @ getting foot herpies
