As a UK resident, I'd like to apologise to anyone experiencing the horror that is UK Saturday Night TV for the first time.

Saturday night TV is pretty much terrible in every country now. You know what they play in Canada? Hope you like wall-to-wall news programs and GOLF.

Pretty much. Saturdays are Football in the day (most matches kick off at 3pm) followed by either a piss up or a night watching crap TV

For shows like this Saturday is the biggest day for them, along with result shows on Sunday. Having them in the week like in the US would feel equally as odd as Saturday does for you.
