What was the ad like?
Girlfriend interrupts gamer so he switches to gamepad mode.
They show Mario Wii U and ZombiU with gamepad gimmicky play. Then game reel with tekken, batman and mass effect and some e-shop games like nano assault.

Well I was totally wrong then...
Thought it would be similar to their original ones for the Wii which was very descriptive about what the whole thing was about.
Did they go into detail about it and how different it is? Or are people going to think it's a new controller for Wii?
Yeah the advert comes off like a Wii accessory.
They show the console SKU's at the end of the advert though so maybe it won't cause confusion.
Batman and Mass Effect, but not Fifa? it's an UK ad, they should definitely have shown Fifa with the GamePad functionality.

IIRC we followed the Japanese adverts at first, just swapping the voiceover. Someone may correct me on that.

Ah, well that is not so bad in comparison I guess. Maybe NOA can still semi-duplicate the success of Wii Would like to Play, though I doubt it.
The major problem here is the possibility of people still thinking this is an add-on to the Wii. The commercial should have cleared that confusion, but it sounds like it didn't.

It showed some of the Zombie U game, hacking and scanning, and brief clips of Batman and Tekken.

In 6 years time someone will look up the first advert for the Wii U and think "why the hell was someone recording this?", the answer is neogaf.
I've got Homeland recorded, but I don't want to skip through it to see the advert because I'm stil on season 1.
