Will Boogie Bomb?

Holy shit those VH1 boogie ads are cringeworthy

I think this game needs to fail just based on the fact that EA chose them to produce advertising for the game..

In reality though - this is not a NeoGAF game, but I'm sure it will sell a crapload to all of the 'new gamers' that the Wii has attracted

Did they even market the thing? I'm still surprised it jsut came out of nowhere and sold 700k in the USA just like that. :lol
well, they bring a spot in every commercial break in german television... i don't think they did this any less in america.

Btw guys, yesterday while I was doing my quasi-daily cardio routine at the gym I saw ads for both Mario Strikers Charged (in "Wii want to play" format) and Boogie (EA's own advertising) in a span of 7 minutes. Obviously, it was 10 in the morning...on a saturday...one in CN, the other at WB. Uhuh.

I think it will sell reasonably well. Good song selection, it looks fun, broad appeal. It should do fine. EA is really turning things around.

I don't think we need to worry about Boogie as much as MySims. I have a feeling that game is gonna bomb and hard.

The Sims is a Multimillion selling franchise, I don't think a spinoff will bomb.

Wow this is so weird. I came into this topic and was about to click on the post to the youtube link to the commercial when I heard a funky song on the television. I look up, and its the Boogie commercial. Freak-ay.:lol

Back on topic, I think this game had the potential to be a big new ip for EA but the lack of advertising is not good a good sign at all. The game is coming out and less than a week and this is the first time Ive seen any marketing for the game. I doubt it does well, but I hope Im wrong.

You are soooooooo incredibly wrong.

They've all been bad since the third!

Well, I didn't mean to imply ALL older versions are better. There are ones worse than 8, but 8 is not a good version by any stretch. It's too bad there's no odd-even rule like there is for Trek movies or every third Splinter Cell game for that series that we can apply for Mario Party. The quality is quite random.

No Mii support = fail

I do not believe it will take off like EA would have hoped. SingStar crowd has Singstar already and that is going to be released on PS2 already this fall in the guise of Singstar Amped and Singstar Rock Ballads.

I see this game topping rental charts more than sales.

Older versions are good. 8 is awful. Really awful.

I agree. The mini games are pretty much always the same (except for that spin-the-stick crap in the first Mario Party), but the boards are different every time. I thought they were extremely lame in MP8. The train and island level were just plain awful. Not fun at all.

Yeah, when the hell are we going to start seeing more games with Mii support??? Do third party developers need to get Nintendo's approval to use Miis in their games?

Totally going against the e-herd here, but this game is going to sell. You bet your sweet biffy it will.

Keep in mind that this was made by the same team that made SSX Blur, which 1up panned, so scores might be marginally higher at other outlets.

NOT

I'm not trying to defend this game... mainly because I could care less about it, but remember that this is just 1 review, 1 opinion.
