Will the Second Video Game Market Depression/Crash Occur This Decade?

Is a video game market crash/depression coming before 2030?

Eastern games have never thrived as much as they do right now, with both China and South Korea on the rise. So even if the entire Western AAA market crashed, I'd still be very content with just the output from Japanese, Korean, and Chinese devs.

Better get a former office mini pc with a 3400g for ~120 and you can play games up to Switch. Or a super cheap one with i5 7500t and you can play up to Gamecube.

Yeah, you're right, but that's a bit more expensive and more involved. The route I mentioned is 15 bucks more than what Ninty is asking and it's pretty plug and play.

We'll only see a crash if the vast majority of game releases turn into shit GAAS. And since that's not gonna happen because players themselves won't support it, the gaming market will just keep growing, growing, and becoming even more important.

Third-parties still produce lots of high quality stuff.
There's also indie games. We are getting more of those than even before and you can enjoy a ton of them with a low to mid PC.
PC parts are expensive but you don't need the top of the crop stuff.
You could also get into retro gaming.

I think we are covered. AAA studios are going through a bad time but I don't care. The moment they realize they can produce cool videogames with small teams and smaller budgets we might get a 2nd golden age, but I'm not sure that'll ever happen.
