Yeah. There's only so many times I can hear "It's not my problem" before I start to realize the person is a mindless drone.
What we CURRENTLY (that might change until the release) know of the X1 is almost exclusively bad on many topics. That is not juvenile at all.

i hope not. i didn't like the conference or the used game drm but i know i'd buy one if beyond good & evil 2 was suddenly announced as an exclusive so i can hardly begrudge it if remedy or turn 10 are that for other people.
arguably buying one is bad for the industry, but it's more a tragedy of the commons, why should i not get the game i want, millions of xbros are going to buy it for call of duty and madden anyway so one sale doesn't matter.
that said i think people are very hostile at the moment but this will die down a bit after e3 when there's lots more xbox one games and people have to balance their interest in games with feelings about the drm and it starts to get complex.

Well Vita and WiiU fans are probably mocked for being "delusional." However this Xbox thing is not about some geeky delusional thing. It's more like putting a group of people into douche bag/asshole status. It's goes farther than specs and game libraries.
It is insane to shun anyone, let alone a person who buys one console or the other. This forum, I thought at least, was what it is because it is respectful, tolerant of others. Since the Xbox One I have seen it devolve at an alarming rate. If this is the future of GAF I will respectfully bow out.

He is saying that there may be unspecifed features or benefits to a consumer that would outweigh the shittiness of always online DRM.
He is further saying that whatever those features and benefits are, MS is not / will not be implementing them, leaving you with just the shittiness.

He refers to the DLC being an issue gamers complained about as well, especially Day 1 DLC etc, but I agree that its not even remotely in the same league. In the end DLC also means content for players that they might otherwise not get.
I will be civil to people who support ruining the second-hand market, ruining my ability to trade, sell, and lend games on my terms (as is my right as a legal buyer/consumer), but I will not respect them. You can take that to the bank.

What does your previous perception about GAF and what is happening now tells you about what Microsoft is trying to do? Is it really "console wars"? I really don't think so.

This has absolutely nothing to do with teams. I bought a 360 on launch day, and have bought the majority of my games on it this gen.
This is about one company suddenly saying "we're changing all the rules right now", and people standing up and saying "fuck you".
It's really that simple. The changes they want to implement do not benefit us one bit. They only harm the industry we love.
The companies that don't suddenly re-write consumer rights in one fell swoop?

I just hope we'll be able to talk about games without constant bombardment, I know this is a crazy time but I see gaming as fun and entertainment; I don't worry about it too much outside of that and I enjoy discussing games on all systems. It's fun sometimes to get into the business once in awhile and joke about the fuck ups of these multibillion corps that don't give a fuck about us, but ultimately I play games to relax and have fun. The unceasing negativity on GAF (outside of a few sacred cows) and über seriousness about certain things I find grating sometimes, especially lately. But I suspect it will all calm down later in the summer.
