I'm very skeptical that there's going to be a material difference in rights management on the PS4 in the first place.
Me too. And I'll heap on Sony as well if it happens.

What about people who buy Call of Duty?
Or games like Sim City 5?
and im sure they will care
So because someone doesn't care I shouldn't have an opinion? Get over your own imperious bullshit.
What is so bad about call of duty? Is it just because its a yearly franchise?

Go home and get your fucking shine box.I said this in another thread but...what if what MS does just doesn't bother you? DRM: I have never, ever, had a problem with this. Ever. Used games: I don't care. Anti-consumer: Please. Again, this is tiddlywinks. I live on Earth where a government TAKES my money, a city TAKES my money, where insurance companies FORCE me to pay or not be allowed to drive. I think these "problems" for MS are only problems for those that have no other problems in life. Problem? I know, you're young, down with the MAN, stand up for what you believe. I get it. I just imagine a kid running up to me yelling "MS is ANTI CONSUMER!!!!!" I'll tussle your hair, give you fiver and tell you to run off and buy some ice cream. I have real fucking problems to deal with.
I realized after the Xbox One launch that I AM the old man in the club and will have to leave soon.

Regular gamers that like MS and bought the console for their output won't be shunned at all. Just the ones that defend the DRM will be.
Perfectly said. As an adult, I agree wholeheartedly.I said this in another thread but...what if what MS does just doesn't bother you? DRM: I have never, ever, had a problem with this. Ever. There's no reason to encourage people to be apathetic about something they care about. If someone finds a practice egregious, then they absolutely should withhold purchasing the item and voice their discontent as to why they're not buying.
i agree but what does it change when you clutter message boards with your bs over and over and over again ? you can have your opinion and voice it out openly but stop forcing it on me.
They'll be treated like those fucking prawns in District 9.
As far as I know is it not very liked for being the embodiment of a "fraternity casual game", the lack of innovation and of course because Activision shows no shame by ripping people off with ridiculous map pack pricing. What is so bad about call of duty? Is it just because its a yearly franchise?
Wow, someone managed to spin this into a "I'm old so I don't care about DRM, you younglings!" thing. Lol.I said this in another thread but...what if what MS does just doesn't bother you? You know, it really sucks to look at it this way, but IF (big if for the moment there), the lines stay as clear cut between Sony and MS as we expect them to be now.. its also a big moral issue. I dont want to support a company breaching privacy, fucking over my customer rights and doing all the other nasty/greedy shit that we currently expect MS to do.
If MS is as anti-consumer as we currently think, then I think its a perfectly valid decision to question peoples decision to support them.
It´s not about a format it´s about people supporting anti gamer/anti consumer garbage out of blind fanboyism. And yes they deserve to be shunned.
I was referring to the console doing more than play games. This board would probably prefer if it just played hardcore games. The fact is that my wife has enjoyed the Kinect, and I even enjoy the voice commands in the dashboard. Many others enjoy all the video content. When MS shows this stuff at the conference then all of a sudden gamers are abandoned even though they specifically said that a lot more gaming focused content would be at e3.I was more commenting he's praising the Xbone, which flat out stops you from sharing with others, and saying we must not like to share our hobby.
They'll be treated like those fooking prawns in District 9.
lol like anyone on here gives two shits what you think.
I dunno if I'd go that far (nevermind there must've been some Sony nutjobs that defended the patents they cooked up), but this IS a very different battle from most console battles. Most of those are childish "my system has better games!" or at best there really are some irksome qualities/policies of one or the other (games rejected by SCEA, Microsoft mandating DLC be charged for.) But this is much more a rights or philosophical argument, it doesn't even REQUIRE clear preference for one company over the other, just distaste over this specifically.I hope there is major push back against them since this is negative impacting the entire industry and fucking gamers for years to come, but in the end whether they are or not, supporting Microsoft after what they just announced automatically brands you the worst type of fanboy ever conceived - worse than Nintendo, Sony or Apple fanboys combined.

Sony is going to do the same shit guys. The pc elitist high horse is going to be even higher. Which I'm fine with since I'm also a pc gamer... but i really enjoy consoles as well. :/
More relief... At a roundtable this morning, Sony's game studios chief, Shuhei Yoshida, told reporters that any requirement for users to register a game online in order to play it would be left to game publishers. Sony won't require that.
I have a hard time seeing you being an old man, because if you were, then there would be games that are older than 10 years old that are precious to you. The Xbone's DRM is a service. The cloud is a service. And anything that requires these things to operate will no longer work when these services are turned off, fail, or otherwise cease to exist.I realized after the Xbox One launch that I AM the old man in the club and will have to leave soon.
Shun me. I'll just be busy enjoying mah games!
That's some nice internet you have there...
it'll be a ssshameee if something happened to it
=3
GAF really went down the toilet the past few days..I fucking hope the system wars bullshit dies down. There is one thing having a big problem with the Xbone and trying to tear down anyone who does like it.
Instead of prawns... they will be called
Xboners
