Even if it's still a first-gen device, I'd probably drop my Optimus 7 for this one:
Finally a WP7 from HTC that I like.
edit:
There's even more:
btw, does anyone here have the slightest idea what this event today is about?

PocketNow: HTC Prime: Windows Phone 7 QWERTY Slider? It looks like HTC has a new Windows Phone 7 to unveil to the world, perhaps come CTIA. We first heard tell of the Prime earlier today when the phone showed up in Telstra's inventory system. Chinese site XDA.cn is listing the Prime as having a 3.7" WVGA display with 512MB of RAM, a 5MP camera, plus LED flash. With the Prime, it looks like HTC is introducing a new style of keyboard that differs from the current crop of slide-out QWERTY devices like the Desire Z/T-Mobile G2 and 7 Pro. They keys are oval shaped instead of rectangular.

http://pocketnow.com/windows-phone/htc-ignite-upcoming-windows-phone-7-photoHTC may be preparing its sixth Windows Phone 7 device, codenamed HTC Ignite, according to Chinese site XDA.cn. However, there are several discrepencies in the alleged specs listed for the rumored handset, most notably its supposed use of an 800MHz processor and resistive touch screen -- both of which would fall outside of the Chassis 1 requirements as stipulated by Microsoft. The rest of the supposed features, including 3.7-inch WVGA display, 512MB of RAM, and a five-megapixel camera, do fall in line with existing WP7 hardware.
However, before we go dismissing this report as fake, it's important to note that "HTC Ignite" also shows up as a model on UK etailer King of Gadgets -- alongside the HTC Prime, which we saw in Telstra's internal system earlier today. It's also possible that the initial source of the image and info didn't have all the facts straight, or that we're looking at one of the first Chassis 2 devices (which might explain the processor speed but not the resistive screen).
We're told to expect the Ignite in "mid-2011," although its characterization as a "flagship phone" also seems off.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I can see why people think that Thurrot is a whiny bitch and I agree with them, but I'm glad about that. Thurrot is well known for his opinions on MS, he has sources and friends at Redmond and I think that complains from guys like him have far more weight than the usual jab from blogs like Engadget. He can be quite the apologist when it comes to Microsoft (he even gave the WHS team a pass for dropping the Drive Extender), so I hope that his bitching will lead to something.antiquegamer said:I don't know why is there anything to debate, the block post by Microsoft engineer already confirm as much. Carrier do block the update. According to MS guy post, carrier can set the date when update can be deploy (ie they can delay it), bundle up the update (ie they can block one update and force the update to the next cycle) and at the end he said, everyone will "eventually" get the update. So it could be like Android where a year later you get to update your device when all the newer one already sport the latest OS version.
People on various site keep bashing Paul Thurot but at least he's not spineless and don't mind standing up to Microsoft. The guy that make Weave app (which I like a lot) twitter that they drop his site (windows site not win 7 secrets) from their news feed. How stupid. He is a pundit, that is what he suppose to do.
If MS want us early adopters to evangelized the platform then they need to give us good reason to be excited about it. I was, but not any more.
