Wired play through all of Too Human

So after all the shit you guys have been dishing out I decided to go off the blackout long enough to watch the intro. Have you guys been chugging the hatorade? It's really not that bad. Maybe it's because lots of people's expectations were crazy, but I was pretty intrigued with what I saw. The imagery of the cloaked figure on the mountaintop with the snow blowing was pretty awesome, for instance.

This thread is out of control.

No,I am sorry to say it really is that bad.

It's not great, but I've seen far worse. If it weren't for Dyack's ridiculously thin-skinned reactions fanning the flames, the game wouldn't generate nearly as many posts (let alone GIFs) as it does.

yes, let's just ignore the countless videos showing bad animation and clipping.
And what does that have to do with playing the game again?

Dude, give it up. At this point you're going to have a school of piranhas on you just for expressing casual interest in this game.

and :lol @ jarosh

True, I guess its more funny than bad.

This is true. I just checked. My cat is actually just a skeleton and gore now.

If the animation team couldn't do a good job on a cutscene which was meant to show off their talent, what makes you think they can do it ingame?

Yeah, the battle animation is pretty shitty as well. Don't need to play the game to see that.

Yeah, it's a crazy new-age notion to want to play a game before you pass judgment so I'm not expecting a lot of people to get it.

If anyone cares.

Penny Arcade Imprssions:

Also, contrary to other previews I have read, I think the game is a little too long - some levels are just long to be long, likely to counter complaints that the game is too short, which hasn't worked anyway. My playtime was around the fourteen hour mark, similar to Mass Effect, because just like Mass Effect I spent a lot of time twiddling my character and making the most of my equipment. Inserting runes to increase my effectiveness, completing slottable quests called Charms that confer powerful effects, or crafting items from rare blueprints to build sharp looking sets are things which I find fun. The replayability here should be in the escalating difficulty, the co-op multiplayer, and the inherently addictive quest for more powerful, cooler-looking shit.
I dont know exactly how far along this build is, I would assume very, very far. I imagine it will be quite similar to what will see store shelves. They've made a kind of cyberpunk Diablo, with a fast combat system and a deep world. It's not perfect. But it's much, much better than I expected.

I'm not sure if you're just turning a blind eye, but there are things that have been revealed and can be judged. If I was complaining about the gameplay, you're absolutely correct, but I'm talking about the animation quality of dozens of gameplay videos and trailers.

When that phrase appears in defense of a video game, you've already lost the argument. No one's looking for a "not that bad" game. People like good games, and if they're lucky, great games.

well, let's see, you felt the need to respond to my post which was a response to someone saying "how can we have anything to complain about when we haven't played the game" where I said " the complaints about animation and rough edges are perfectly vaild because we have these little things called video footage". why you felt the need to make a strawman argument I've no idea.

The fact that this thread is keeping pace with the Diablo 3 announcement thread is amazing. There has been about a 300 post difference for the last couple days. Shit, its now cut down to less than 200. This has to be one of the biggest pile-ons in GAF history.

I guess NeoGAF is equally excited about Diablo 3 being released and TH failing.

:lol @ Benny Hill

Oh I see, so everyone is still open to seeing how the game plays and story unfolds, they just don't like the animation. Gotcha.

:lol is all I got for this game.

I haven't been following the gaming side that closely did Dennis really make a for/against Too Human thread? :lol

I am going to have to go with AGAINST.

Wow @ Penny Arcade.

I'm sure alot of people will read those impressions and think it's legit but I think it's kind of insulting.

I wonder is ol Tycho (or whatever his real name is) thinks he's smarter than all of his readers or just smarter than 90% of his readers.

Why is it insulting? Looks like he enjoyed it. Is that not supposed to happen?

Now that we got the Benny Hill vid, any way we could put a ball of yarn in place of that metal thing with Baldur in the gif of him flailing his arms around?:lol

I hope that a demo is put up, I'm interested enough in the Norse mythology (new ground for gaming, to me anyway) to give it a look... we'll see how it is I guess soon enough...

We are trying so hard to get Dyack in here. :lol :lol

Yeah because we should all be afraid to voice our own opinion on a videogame forum. Oh noes here come the piranhas RUN! :lol

He probably feels he's better educated on Too Human, now that he's you know, played it from beginning to end. As opposed to guys like you and me who have just watched videos and yakked it up in forums. I think that gives him a legitimate perspective from which to convey his opinion, no?
