Witcher 3 Enhanced version on Next Gen and PC

Absolutely! HD Reworked Project + with what they're doing here they could easily sell it again to next-gen consoles. They are very consumer friendly.
The textures in the base game really are bad at times, and really show their age. The HD Reworked project transforms the game -

No amount of ray tracing will make up for crappy textures and low poly assets.

It's a phenomenal mod. The consistency with vanilla textures/artstyle is key

Yeah that is the key for sure. It looks very much the same game, just everything looks way more detailed.
Even these screens dont do it justice when you're playing the game and almost every thing in the game now has these super high rez textuires.

I use Ericas Opulent Reshade and STLM2 to go with it *chefs kiss*

From what I can tell all we have had is the twitter announcement. Seems a bit pre-emptive to say it won't match what a mod is doing. 🤔
True but we have been here before. Skyrim Special Edition a great example, added all these fancy post processing effects, god rays, new lighting etc, but the same vanilla textures.
It would be great if CDPR update the textures and models, but i highly doubt it.

Hope they have raytraced water reflections. Sailing with the boat with the big ass sail blocking everything in this game is what made me truly despise screenspace reflections.

I never finished The Witcher 3. I found the combat a bit lacking compared to some other games.

But I'll happily buy the game again, as CDPR are not being jerks about upgrades.

My PC wont be able to handle it any higher than Ultra 1080p/60, so i will grab it for PS4 if it is on sale and jump in again on PS5
Edit: If they have another sale until then that is :lollipop_downcast_sweat:

I told ya'll that the PC is going to be this generation best platform to be on! It's going to pick up so many games from the PS space and all the Xbox ones. (y)
told what? this was a pc game since 2015,and modded to death since them,i understand some of you want to champion the against consoles, but this is nonsense

Trying to play the game on a PS4 when it came out pushed me back into the arms of PC gaming, but then I lost interest. This was the reason all along :).

Im certainly excited about this since I consider it the greatest game of this generation, but I doubt I will play it since I have done 6 full playthroughs and I have more or less laid the game to rest.

But I dunno, if somehow I am allowed to re-earn trophies and achievements I will end up doing another playthough or 3.

Common sense dictates that a person should look up what ray tracing actually is before replying. Seems you lack it. Ray tracing is not just reflections. Go read more about it and then reply.

I know what RT is but from a lighting perspective mods already have touched on the outdoors so that leaves only some indoor segments. the difference in a 5 yrs old game will not be much, but its free enjoy.

No mod will ever surpass RT. The mods you're talking about which I used, only changed time of day and have edited some of the colors to make it look more natural. If CDPR implement rt lighting, diffuse lighting, shadows, reflections, etc. it will significantly change the way Witcher 3 looks.

Are they going to use the mod that improves combat, because lets be honest, it was not very good. In actuality, Its never been that good.

CDPR making other developers do the walk of shame when their game of the generation comes to a new generation to once again take the crown.

Oooh very nice, good on CDPR. Henry Cavill probably having a boner right now after hearing about this.

Raytraced GI would make this already beautiful game look even better. Guess I will be playing through it for a third time. Can you imagine if it gets access to the full set of raytracing features like Cyberpunk.

Fine I'll play Witcher 3 again for the 3rd time. But I won't promise I'll like it, hmphhh! (Yes I'll love it)

How did they touch on outdoors? Please don't mention that Marty McFly screen space GI that everyone on youtube calls raytracing to get views.

I'm not surprised that it's free, i respect the company quite a bit for its pro-consumer organizational culture and that has payed off tremendously well - The Witcher 3 is not only still selling well on Steam to this day but also had one of its best years ever in 2019. This update will push it even further along. I'm a bit worried with the mod support, whether or not it'll break the current mods available for it. But i guess we'll see.. Eh, even if the current mods won't apply, there's going to be conversions as soon as possible from the community.

This is how you respect your customer, developers. Most of you video game companies in the western part of the world are furiously, and aggressively competing with each other to see who can fuck us in the ass harder, yet here we have CDPR handing us a free tube of lotion and gently kissing our checks.
