From what I understand, the 'Windows' OS of the 3 OSs, will be slightly more open than the gaming side and stuff from the Windows app store will be able to make its way over to the xbox.

By slightly more open, does not mean that if you bring out an app on the windows store, it will automatically appear on the Xbox. It means the requirements for a windows style app on the Xbox One are less onerous than the gaming side.

What is most interesting is that they are considering it an app. So it appears that devs will be able to create WinRT based games and sell them on the marketplace. Only downside being they will only have access to resources in the app OS.

This does make the snap state slightly more intriguing. I could see myself playing some Tetris while something else was going on.
