World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

Got my fourth legendary on my DK last night. Not sure why it is happening

1st Bracers
2nd Helm
3rd Boots
4th Ring

Couple this with a legendary on my mage and another on my shaman and I'm just like ??????

We also downed five bosses on Normal last night in Nighthold. Second time in there and it's a pretty ~~casual~~ guild I run but I'm super proud. I really like this raid too which is nice.

Well, yes. Everytime in a game you are forced to trail a person its going to be shit.

I'm okay with plain un-fun dumb quests that shouldn't even exist, the game has plenty of those, but this one is so full of bugs the guy disappeared twice at the start while I didn't even move from upstairs.
Now he won't appear again. Really great.

Fortunately joining a group and waiting for people to complete it for me worked.

10k shy of 20k revered Nightfallen rep gate for the final quest for the Good Samaritan achievement needed for Legion Loremaster and Pathfinder Part 1 and I'm so burnt out on World Quests. I don't know how people do this on multiple toons, I barely feel motivated to complete it on one. The reward for completing WQ's falls off so damned quickly that they basically just become rep grinds that nets you vendor trash. The fact that I'm not enamoured with the mage class mount doesn't help.

Tanaan may have fucking sucked but the dailies were over more quickly by virtue of taking place in one zone (most Legion reps do as well, except for these awful Kirin Tor WQ's) and the Corrupted Dreadwing was a pretty significant carrot, for me anyways.

I think I just need to play a class with a mount I actually want to make this grinding worthwhile. Like a Shaman, Rogue or Warrior. I just am not looking forward to re-doing all of this Suramar shit again.

I finally used a macro to see just how many more dungeons I need to run to get the color unlocked for my hidden artifact, and guh its lower than I thought.

64/100. Fuck.

Even if you do nothing but the Nightfallen emissary when it comes up you'll have exalted long before 7.2 hits. Add in doing the withered training and you'll have it in a matter of weeks. There's no benefit to pushing for it any faster really, the quest chain after exalted you can do all in one day.

To be fair, as the number of alts you have increases, the incremental switching over for repeated questing through (presumably) similar routes for the same WQs starts to quickly eat into other things you could be doing on your main.

Granted, few outside of mythic progression are likely demanding raid-ready alts or anything like that, but while it's not as bad as the MoP grind, it's still pretty bad, especially when you can't the 750 Nightfallen/1500 other faction tokens from Kirin Tor aren't BoA for some reason.

Granted, there's no reason to do alt WQs other than Legendary chances (presuming the class hall is done), or cosmetics only available from order hall stuff at this point, but this is still pretty alt-unfriendly.

Yeah, getting ready for class mounts and unlocking artifact appearances are my only motivation for playing alts. This would easily be a single-character expansion if it weren't for those.

Is Pathfinder Part 1 account-wide or character specific? I'm considering just switching back to Dalaran NA and playing my old WoD main, a goblin Shaman, but all of my Pathfinder progress is on a Gnome Mage on Proudmoore. If it's account-wide I'll keep up with Emissary quests and maybe even Withered Training to complete it.

Man, enhancement shaman is way too squishy for it to be enjoyable for me right now. Hopefully it gets some survivability back at some point down the road. I feel like I'm playing a mage.

According to Wowhead it's account-wide.

Most fun rotation in the game, though, in my humble opinion. But the only thing that keeps me from dying more often is the root pants. That was the only reason I was able to get to rank 7 in Brawler's Guild and solo a good part of mythic Siege of Orgrimmar.

Oh, it's a lot of fun. I love the abilities and the spec just feels great to play. But I miss things like spirit wolves healing and being able to put out a heal totem to help. And it's odd that a mail armor class isn't more durable.

I may jump back and forth between servers to finish off Pathfinder Part 1 and the Suramar quest chain on that mage then. I also may just straight up shelf it to focus on the Shaman, because god damn I want this...

Yeah, that's a nice mount. I hope they allow it to change elements somehow.

So Pathfinder Part 1 unlocks flying?

https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/20506662/unlock-flying-pathfinder-part-one

I will be sticking with that Mage then since I'm so close to finishing Good Samaritan and then will level my Shaman with flying.
Part two does I believe. Someone posted it in the comments:

Part Two
"Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part Two" will unlock flying in Legion zones account-wide after obtaining it on one character.

The requirements for this achievement will be:

Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part One
Explore Broken Shore - Explore the Broken Shore, revealing the covered areas of the world map. (New zone coming in 7.2)
Defender of the Broken Isles - Repel Legion assaults upon each of the Broken Isles zones. (Invasions coming in 7.2, similar to pre-patch)
Legionfall Commander - Earn Exalted status with the Armies of Legionfall. (New faction coming in 7.2)
Breaching the Tomb - Complete the Legionfall campaign. (Quest campaign leading up to the Tomb of Sargeras raid.)

So, Gul'dan HM is being an asshole. We swiftly cleaned everything up to him last night without a hitch in about two hours, and even extended raid time a little bit to give him a few tries.

Things did not went well.

Let's hope next Sunday things go better and we can start with MM.

I hope the new campaign is better than the Suramar one leading to Nighthold.

I mean I liked it but there are some things to fix. If you were doing it each week it felt amazingly underwhelming and short, if you did it all (or many) at once it's a mess of constant back and forth of Shal'aran > actually do the quest for two minutes > go back to shal'aran > do quest for two minutes > Shal'aran etc

amazing source of artifact power though

I'm more bothered about the Illidan chain. I don't have the time or desire to run M+ or daily heroics. I'm barely able to keep doing emissary quests and I have a below average artifact level. I'm about to clear NH HM yet I have 31 out of 80 Lingering Soul Fragments. And even if I suddenly found myself with the time to do it, it is still time gated, only 10 souls a week!

I'm extremely tired of Blizzard blocking things behind daily grinds, or forcing you to grind AP if you want to keep up with your guildmates. It's like it doesn't matter that much how good or bad you play, but how much you can withstand grinding.

Huh, I thought it was great, it's the closest wow ever felt to a story focused single player rpg. I was always looking forward to those quests. One more thing this expansion did that motivated me to do endgame content.

I just have no idea why guldan was the final boss of the nighthold and why illidan was there.

This "follow the spy :D" lameshit worldquest is so shitty and bugged they should delete it

Oh you haven't lived until you've tried that quest on a PvP realm where a rogue decides to be an asshole and saps you repeatedly so that the spy you are escorting gets away every time. Had that happen to me a few times closer to launch, honestly there was no way to complete the quest that I could see. Thank god for WQGF becoming popular after that making it easy to swap to a PvE realm for WQs....

I don't know HOW u did that lol, what's your party average DPS look like

I still hadn't cleared recount from the entire night of mythic+, if you're that curious. Teeming skittish sucks for melee but we bring two because that's what we have.

2oKfOJl.jpg

We didn't clear it in time, the demon section is just absolutely insane. There's one pull where two of those big Inquisitor mobs come out, they cannot be CCed, and they spam a huge damage AOE that can't be interrupted (except by death grip apparently). We had to bloodlust just to get one down. We already have the +15 under time limit achievement so this was just to get our 15 for the week and for 'fun'.

Teeming just completely breaks Arcway, especially on Fortified. That pull right before the felguard boss (I think thats the one with 2 Inquisitors) we just had to kill one, wipe, then kill the rest. I hate how little thought seemed to go into Teeming in some cases. As someone who tanks for a 2 melee group, my fingers hurt just thinking about a +15 arcway this week...

We got insanely lucky and our stones were Maw +11, Maw +13 and... Maw +15 hah. Finished Maw +15 in time without much of an issue. Almost had some problems on the +11 though since our WW Monk's internet died during the run, but luckily it was during the mini-boss mob right before Helya, and we were able to 4 man her without too much issue.

Nothing like doing a Teeming/Skittish/Fortified week right after Sanguine/Overflowing/Tyrannical to make you realize how completely unbalanced M+ is hah.

I'm guessing this will probably take a month or so doing daily quests. I hate they stuck yet another exalted rep requirement onto this.

Took a break this week until around 7.2. I just can't take the grind right now.

A month seems likely, though it depends on how they gate it. Checking my achievements looks like it was about a month between me hitting 110 and getting Exalted with Suramar. Though that rep felt pretty slow, so it could well be faster than that.

Will Blizzard ever update the armory? It's been down for months now.

What about the armory is down? I can search for characters just fine, see their gear/achieves etc. Or do you mean the mobile Armory app? Kind of sucks, but I don't think any functionality of it doesn't work.

Man, 5+ years after releasing firelands, I finally finished my Molten Front grind and got my fire Hippogryph. Man what a shitty grind that was, took 43 days total of quite a bit of effort daily (I was very inefficient for several days there, I think it can be done in ~30 days optimally?). Would've probably been cool too if they just lessened the grind a bit. But I got my mount I'll never use so I'm... happy? I guess?

Sometimes Blizzard make me go "..wha?"

7.2 introduces a new Artifact appearance exclusively for solo players who can get through a challenging questline. Awesome! So how do we get the tints?

- Tint 2: Defeat Heroic Kil'Jaeden using this Challenge Artifact Appearance.
- Tint 3: Win 10 Rated Battlegrounds using this Challenge Artifact Appearance.
- Tint 4: Defeat all Legion Dungeon Bosses using this Challenge Artifact Appearance.

Oh yeah, cool solo stuff there Blizz.

I think they always intended for it to be gotten in solo content... though I guess I could see why you would think the tints would be other solo content but there isn't that much to do in Legion aside from WQs.

Honestly, I think this is mostly fine to have the base locked behind solo content that anyone can do, but tints locked behind organized content (and this is coming from someone who never raids or does RBGs so two of those tints I can never get). Much more fine than, say, the Balance of Power line which requires 6-10 weeks of normal mode raiding to unlock the base, but tints that require Mythic+15 (much harder than normal mode raiding), getting all the mythic dungeon acheives, and killing world bosses (possible solo). They should really make it so that base appearances are available to solo players for all appearances, then do whatever they want with the tints.

Oh I definitely agree it's pretty alt unfriendly, I haven't bothered with it at all on any alts. But the first time just for the achievement is only really annoying if you try to do it fast, otherwise it comes at a pretty steady pace. Anyone working on it for the first time now shouldn't really stress about it too much is all I was saying.

I enjoy doing WQs myself for a variety of reasons. They're quick, the reward is instantaneous (no need to run back to a quest giver), I get to pick which rewards I want to go after and which I can leave be and there is always a chance of a piece of gear warforging/titanforging to something better for me (yesterday I was doing a WQ for the emissary cache and the pants titanforged to 860 and they ended up being an upgrade for my hunter).

WQs definitely aren't for the people doing any other kind of serious group content (as you said, the rewards cap way too quickly apart from some lucky rolls) and making them the way to rep-grind isn't the smartest way but as a way to spend time in the game for the casual, burn out (from interactions with the community) crowd it's a fine addition that still keeps me entertained.

Still an improvement over what they have now. The +15 mythic keystone tint is buried under raiding and tons of time gating.

I was pissed that I couldn't get my +15 tint this week since I didn't leave mid-raid to turn in my Nightshards. But apparently looting Gul'dan for the final quest is bugged right now anyways.

I can see the Balance of Power questline being real shit to do in the future. EN is already obsolete, who is going to run it for weeks on end in 7.2? Unless they open that part up to LFR.

Rainfall is actually kind of good now. Not really from the perspective of self-survival, but in a large raid the healing it puts out is impressive and it's super easy to keep up. The squishiness of Enhancement is certainly an issue, until you get enough gear that it doesn't matter. At 880 I can solo packs of elites in Suramar.

They should make it available to LFR, or at least increase the amount you get per boss for the EN segment, but they probably won't, TBH.

If they didn't capitulate before (and I honestly can't understand why they locked the 'default' skin with the balance of power questline, rather than Unleashed Monstrosities achievement), I can't really see them doing it now.

Honestly, the best bet is just try and find normal EN groups in group finder, and burn through it.

Balance of power quest implementation is one of the worst ideas from a conceptual standpoint that I've ever seen, up there with this expansion's implementation of Archaeology. Its like they were trying to do everything as poorly as possible.

You have this artifact, with very limited total number of appearances. Lets make one of them gated at baseline behind an introductory raid Normal mode (or higher) only. But not only that, lets make it take 6-8 weeks of doing the raid to get all the drops, then you have to go to the next raid to finish up. Should we make it account wide? No way! Of course you will want to do 6-8 weeks of EN on every character you play! Starting to play a character in patch 7.3 when WQs give better rewards than EN? Sucks to be you! No way you'll be able to find 6 weeks worth of EN groups easily! Guess that one appearance of the 6 total you can choose from (with 2 of those 6 being basically the baseline ones) is locked forever! Oh you did something impressive and difficult like clearing a Mythic +15 in the time limit? Too bad so sad, no appearance for you!

Like I've always said, if you're gonna make something "for raiders" at least commit to it. Make it Mythic raiding only. Normal EN is no harder than LFR EN, but it takes way more effort to do and in the future will be super irrelevant and almost impossible to find groups for. There's no "skill" basis they've locked this appearance behind, only a tedious and arbitrary requirement.

I just want to walk to the Ashran vendor and buy the Vol'jin's Spear rep mount, but nooo, you can't get into that bit of Ashran without queuing. And the queue? Never pops.

Artifact appearances being character locked is silly in my opinion. Was casually thinking about rerolling a new DH just for a potential at better legendaries, but when you have to grind all the AP, all the gear, and you don't even get artifact appearances--even for the same class--it made it not worth it. Besides the silly transferring I'd have to do.

I just hope my 5th (and eventually 6th, etc.) legendary is worth a damn and doesn't take too long to get to. At this point I've kinda eliminated half the bad ones so...

It's just depressing looking at logs and seeing the top 100+ ranks pretty much all have the same BiS legendary that I don't have. You know, the one that only lets you generate something like 33% more fury over the course of a fight with no downside or additional effort.

One question. I'm currently debating if I should come back to WoW. I haven't played since Cataclysm but did get the WoD promotion which gave me a level 90 boost I haven't used yet. When I buy Legion I'll get a level 100 boost but does this replace the 90 boost or do I basically get an additional boost I could use later? I'm asking because I'm not sure if I should use the boost before buying Legion to not lose it. Thanks

I am pretty sure you get both boosts.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
I believe you will keep the unused 90 boost. I found a forum post from last year where people were talking about having both their unused 90 boost as well as the 100 boost from pre-ordering Legion.
