Would Hank Hill vote for Trump?

I dont see how people can see Peggy going Trump, when she's what could be considered a very confident feminist on the show.

She's got an Ego the size of texas itself and wouldn't stand for somebody to talk down to her, not of all people Donald Trump.

Luanne and Lucky are Trump all the Way.

Bobby would be for Jill Stein

Khan would for Hillary, but would be pressured by his other Laotion richer friends

John Redcorn wouldn't vote, but could lean towards Hillary.

I also get the feeling that this would be a multi-episode arc kind of thing and yet another one of the "Maybe Bill is starting to finally crawl out of that dark place" ones where once it's over he's right back in it again.

Because Trump lies through his teeth and Peggy is arguably the most gullible character to ever grace syndicated TV.

Actually because she has an ego the size of Texas is one of hte reasons I totally see her voting for Trump. She is not that smart (to put it lightly) and she would totally be taken in by Trump at first. And her ego would not let her believe she would be wrong about something (and Trump wouldn't talk down to her when she's feeding his ego which she would be). And she has totally missed when people are talking down to her (she doesn't catch it).

I could see Luanne realizing there is a problem before Peggy. Because Luanne seems a lot more likely to be open to questioning herself. Peggy's ego refuses to see anything other than what it wants to see.

Hank Hill is a proponent of clean propane energy. He'd never support a president that's in the pocket of big coal.

Yea he would. King of the Hill was unabashedly conservative skewed and making jokes of things that would normally drive GAF nuts. For some i'm assuming its like having rose colored memories of Charlie Brown cartoons then watching them now and being slapped in the face with how preachy they actually were.

I could see Hank, and even his friends, being caught up in the Trump fervour. I'd suspect Peggy and Bobby would try to convince him against it, and eventually he'd see the light. You could even do a good bit where Hank did vote for Trump, but after he see how it affects people around him, he regrets it.

Dale is the X factor, he'd be all conspiratorial. I'd assume he'd probably be against both Clinton and Trump, and maybe vote for some random ass third party.

Peggy would probably choose Clinton because she's a woman, and I feel like that would be very important to Peggy. But absent of that, I think she would have initially supported Trump, then struggled throughout the whole election season until she ultimately concluded to vote Clinton.

I think Khan would not vote because he doesn't care enough to do so, but I think he would lean overall toward a third party.

It's hard to read Boomhauer. I would say he would vote Trump because of his playboy personality and State trooper job, but as suggested by someone else, he can be shockingly reasonable, so he may actually vote Clinton.

The biggest Trump supporter I can think of on the show would be Ted Wasonasong. He and probably his whole family seem like the perfect supporters, with their money and snootiness.

I can't see him doing it after the POW comments

Yeah, what with his dad losing his shins in the war and all. Actually I could see him doing it just to spite Cotton.

Hank, probably not.

Dale would be the most alt-right motherfucker in Arlen though.

Only up to the part where they take the white house, then he'd be against them, Dale would never actually trust a politician lol

You know damn well Strickland would be 120% behind Trump though and it'd cause Hank all kinds of trouble, because you know damn well Strickland would force his employees to campaign for Trump lol

What a great thread.

Hank I think would have a really hard time picking amongst these candidates. I can see him being turned off by Trump for a number of reasons (elite NY billionaire, hateful, insulting of veterans) and leaning towards Clinton, but not wanting to vote for her. He just seems to have too good of a head on his shoulders to be a fan of somebody like Trump.

Peggy I could see going either way; she's dumb enough to fall for Trump's bullshit but strikes me as someone who would love to vote for a woman just for the sake of voting for a woman.

No way would Bobby like Trump.

Luanne would vote Jill stein.

Dale would be the biggest Trump fan in Texas. I could see all of Hank's friends voting Trump.

Kahn would probably be a Trump fan. Immigrant or not he strikes me as the type. I'm in engineering school and have encountered enough teachers/students from around Asia who hold "hard work" and "low taxes" above everything else and seem to find their own ways to turn a blind eye to Trump's racism, and I just get that vibe from Kahn.

Honestly, we all know Peggy would try to run herself.

I dunno, Kahn is a jackass on all levels, but he strikes me as a jackass with a heart who knows what it's like to flee an opressive regime. He'd probably get into Trump but realise that he'd prevent people like himself from coming over

Hank was an illegal boarder crosser.

He would vote for Gary Johnson or abstain completely.

Luanne would vote Jill stein.

She was an uber Christian. She would definitely vote for Trump because of Mike Pence.

John Redcorn would probably vote for Stein though, especially since she was protesting the Dakota pipeline.

You'd be surprised how many people "with a heart" like Trump. There are a lot of these people for whom Trump's perceived economic promises are more important than anything else, and they manage to overlook all his nasty sides through delusion and cognitive dissonance and mental gymnastics.

Hank would begin the episode as an ardent Trump supporter. He'd get totally roped in by "make america great again" and would put on one of those stupid red hats. Bobby is miffed.

Trump would make his lewd statements and Hank would try to sheepishly laugh it off. But when Luanne gets rudely harassed by some men, Hank makes the connection and throws the hat to the ground. He doesn't vote for Hillary, tho.

Kahn would definitely be in the pocket for Trump. First gen immigrant, not one of the specific minorities disparaged by Trump, more concerned about money and pride than anything else.

Dale's all in on Trump. He's re-tweeting all kinds of fake news on Twitter (under an anonymous handle of course).

In real life, conspiracy king Alex Jones is pro-Trump and thinks he's a real outsider bringing the system down. This is an age where your embodiment of conspiracy thinking would have to be for Trump. It's quite a reversal from the norm.

A reality TV star? Hank Hill would hate that immensely. Also dude actually liked his minority neighbors and employees. Didn't he host a quincinera?

Hank ran for city council to bring back working toilets and denied Dale's permit for a wall on his property.

Hank would run for himself (or stumble into candidacy) and vote for himself.

Ultra-niche platforms are also democracy in action!

Strangely enough, I have thought about this.. and I really don't know

Dale would. He would totally buy in to the alt-right conspiracies.

I feel Hank would have a crisis of conscious as everyone around him jumped on the trump train.

Dale doesn't vote

He liked Ann Richards. The show never goes as far as to call him a Republican, as far as I can remember. He also liked Willie Nelson, who is quite the Democrat.

This is true, but Hank was also in a state of denial about Willie's pot smoking. Hank is very much against smoking pot and legalization

Hank is one of those conservatives who really loves the government, and so would have become very out-of-step with the Republican party if the show had continued airing into the Obama years. It was always a gag how he would say things like "Good, paperwork, now we're getting somewhere," and be 100% earnest in that statement. The nihilistic "fuck everything" that is Trumpism wouldn't sit well with him at all. But he also hated Bill Clinton and probably would have loathed Hillary.

Was McMullin on the ballot in Texas? He would have probably voted McMullin.

Absolutely not. Hank Hill had standards in conduct + liked Jimmy Carter

Hank disliked Carter because he idolized Reagan. He didn't seem to "hate" Carter, he just seemed to think Carter was kind of a joke in the one episode that they encountered each other. He did respect the fact that Carter had been president, but then later shared a laugh with Cotton at Jimmy's expense.

His dog being named after Ladybird Johnson and his legit respect for Ann Richards does indicate he's not a total partisan hack, though.

Peggy would develop a grudge against Hillary for not making Peggy the leader of Arlen's groundgame, giving her no choice but to back Bernie out of spite.

My dad has a pretty similar personality to Hank. He doesn't trust Clinton, buy hates trumps character so much that he still voted for her. But he felt bad about it.
