For me, this depends on the nature of the stimulation that caused the orgasm. It seems to boil down to whether I got my rocks off from stimulation to the glans itself, or the skin immediately around/beneath it like the frenulum.

Huh. Interesting.

I've personally just always been able to keep going whenever. That's why I don't ever give a shit if I happen to last not very long to begin with. Just swap condoms and keep fucking going. I once read an abstract about how male rats had an electrode placed in the brain that deactivated the refractory period somehow (Not sure if they excised the portion of the brain that caused it or what), and had a little lever that they could press that would send the signal to the brain for an orgasm.

Hence why I said "a lot of it". They still happen, you retrain your brain on how to act during the refractory period.

So instead of orgasm->here comes the refractory -> go limp, you can train yourself for orgasm->stay hard-> stay hard until it comes back around shortly, for a good payoff.
 
If I had a girlfriend, probably. But only if she was really into it. There's something about the idea of a girl desiring my body in such a perverse way that turns me on. I thought it was connected to the reward pathway (highest potency in the lateral hypothalamus), and the mouse kept on pressing it, forgoing self-preservation. I don't remember hearing about orgasms.
