WWDC09 Thread of iPhones and Snow Leopards

You can also control iPod playback by talking. “Play songs by the Killers.” Playlists work like that, too.

hmmm.... this is not going to work very well, I bet...

My Net10 has a 1.3MP camera. It's the newest model. The most advanced prepaid phone Net10 has ever sold (Motorola). And it's a slider. No keyboard, just number pad. But it is faster and nicer.

But it's no iPhone. And I wish it was an iPhone.

I wish I could take an iPhone, call up Net10, or some other prepaid company, and say "Here's what I wanna do. I have this iPhone. I want to pay no more than 10¢ a minute/5¢ per text message (Like I do now), and have a fairly reasonable data plan. All for no more than $15 for 150 units and maybe $15 more for the data. Can you do this for me?"

"Sure, Mr. Anderson, we appreciate your business. Your iPhone is now set up to work with Net10/whatever. Have a nice day!"

But I can dream. For years I will dream. Until I am employed in a job good enough to assure that I will have a steady income that can afford something like an iPhone plan.

Really Apple? You needed a faster processor to do voice dialing? Really? How ridiculous. This should be a 3.0 feature, not a feature of new hardware.
Is it just voice dialling though? Looks like you can do more than just dial.

If it works with microphone/remote and can tell me the time, that'd be sweet.

Yeah. Voice Command works on old WM phones (even running @ 200 MHz).

Kind of ridiculous how all iphones can't have this feature.

You really have been doing nothing but whining the entire conference.

Really nothing in the new hardware that makes me want to ditch my 3G though.

Voice control. Why is it not firmware?

So they can sell you a new phone. Seriously this should be in the firmware.

I don't use mobile pone cameras at all so this is not interesting to me and faster loading times are also not really worth the upgrade.

How would you buy the iPhone though?

Good voice command is very CPU hungry. Being able to use it without sacrificing the fidelity of all the other apps and services will require more CPU.

My old LG Chocolate four years ago could do this crap, don't try to feed me the "CPU intensive" line.

Not like this it couldn't.

Improved battery life: 9 hours on wifi, 10 watching video, 30 hours of audio playback, 12 hours of 2G talk time, and 5 hours of 3G talk time

that 3G talk time is exactly the same as the 3G.

11:58 am Improved battery life. Now up to 9 hours of internet surfing, 10 hours of video, 30 hours of audio, 12 hours of 2g talk-time, 5 hours of 3g talk-time.

Shouldn't require new hardware, having to buy a new iPhone for this is pure BS.

QFT I'm really annoyed if this requires you to have a 3GS. They didn't even add a button for it so there's no real excuse.

Buy an iphone on ebay.

Just be willing to accept the price to pay for one, and you'll be OK. GAF comes from wealthy families. Want to be part of the iphone club? Pay up. Get a real phone plan as some people would say.

I still have prepaid and no iphone.
