WWDC10 Thread of iPhones and iProducts galore

Sample photo my friend snapped with the new camera. This might make me want one more than any other feature. I love the iPhone camera and I use it a TON...

We should be doing a FaceTime call later today as part of the Tested.com livestream. Stay tuned!
Gary y'know I might be up for that depending on what time. PM me details, I have a birthday that I have to take pictures at tonight, but a vid call from Whitta is kinda priceless. *pampers* Edit: oh haha

Also what happened to being able to use words as a password on the new OS?

Anyone else have slight yellow discoloration at the bottom/dock area of your i4?

It's not noticeable except on iBooks and Settings screens bur it's there.

Rar. "I don't feel good about this".

Oh geez! So I come home to news that the iPhone will be available in white in July, then I read Joshua scratched his current iPhone in 5 days...

Man, only a few hours to go until I pick up the 32GB in black...but I don't know whether I should wait or not now :(

You should definitely wait until July. And I am not just saying that because I want a better chance of getting one tomorrow.

so how long does activation take? ive restored from backup, all my apps/etc are on the phone now, and it still isn't activated, tells me 'waiting for activation. this may take some time'

That photo makes you want one of what, an iPhone or a Camaro? Cause I'd agree either way.

Mine took 3 minutes. Got it around 1:30 EST.

I feel like there is some kind of imprinting or ghosting near the bottom of my screen if I go to an all white screen. I see like faint orange blobs near the bottom. Does anybody else see this?

WOOO.

After being told earlier that Best Buy only had 5 phones and I would have to wait for the next shipment I just got a call to come in tomorrow at noon to get mine! :D

Whoa. That sucks. Anyone here besides Buckethead and BboyDubC have this?

Crap, oh well, not a gamebreaker for now. Only shows up against a white background... I'm sure Apple will send me a nice new one later on, plus I still get to play with this one from day one. =)

I think I'm gonna jailbreak ios4 on my 3G, eBay it, and buy an iPhone 4. I cant help myself. :( Where do I go to find the required files and what not to get this working? Any help would be amazing.

Yeah, not too big a deal -- the phone is still plenty usable, and Apple will surely swap you out for a new one once supplies aren't constrained.

Still a little annoying, though...didn't something similar happen with both 3G screens and iMac screens?

Just held the new iPhone and tried it out for a few minutes. Someone at the company we're contracted to currently got it in already so it was nice to play around with for a few minutes.

The phone is pretty nice with the new design, but kinda as I expected, the screen didn't scream night and day difference to me. Sure it was nice and bright, but it didn't feel like Nintendo DS -> Nintendo DS Lite difference in quality. I didn't have my phone on me to compare directly so maybe it'll be more noticeable then but simply picking it up, it didn't floor me like all the hype is being pushed around here.

The other thing that sorta sucked is signal is sorta iffy inside the building here; 3G fluctuates quite a bit but the guy said signal still sucks inside the building. I was hoping the new design would stabilize the signal, but I guess it can't solve everything.

Other than those two things, it's nice, a fingerprint magnet, snappy and should be a great upgrade from my 3G, but I think between my wife getting it, and having now played with it, I think I can hold out for white, especially after seeing how smudged up his phone was already.

Hadn't seen this posted yet, very fun read/interesting.

512 MB RAM Absolutely confirmed, 1ghz Samsung A4 chip, 1420mAh battery.

Source: iFixit.

Isn't the iPad processor at 1ghz? If so that can't be accurate cuz supposedly benchmarks are slower on the iPhone 4 over the iPad.

Could one of you lucky people with an iPhone 4 do me a quick favour? I need to find out what the user-agent string is of the new phone because I'm creating a mobile web gallery that I want higher res photos to load for the newer phone...

http://WhatsMyUserAgent.com/

If you could paste back what it is, that would be GRAND!!!!!

"Replacing the Samsung S5PC100 ARM A8 600 MHz CPU used in the 3GS, the new iPhone uses the 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 core, much like its bigger sibling, the iPad."

Maybe slightly slower, but that's the scoop, and iFixit is rarely wrong.

Oh yeah, and its Gorilla Glass on the front!!!!!!

Cause there's zero difference between the two otherwise right? (hint, iOS 4, for example)

Ya, but what's on the back that allows scratches?

Also, Gary if you're still reading instead of playing with your phone, can you try popping your sim out of your phone and putting it in the iPad?

No idea, but iFixit did say it was a different glass on the back - not quite Gorilla Glass. Kind of lame IMO.
