I'm sure they'll be more than happy to take you off that unlimited plan. :lol

Not sure I like that they allow toolbars. Those are the worst WORST feature of extensions because people abuse them and you end up with a hundred toolbars and no space to view the page because people are stupid and will install a Yahoo! bar and a Norton bar and so on and so on. Google had it right. Only a single button allowed on the one toolbar in the UI. I will never install an extension with a toolbar if there's no way to hide it without losing functionality.giga said:

At least they allow menu item additions and access to web content. I can't wait to see extensions start popping up. Where is the repository going to be? There has to be a page dedicated to listing all the available ones.
that would be tough, as there are several potential combinations of contracts for each phone and carrier. at least 2 different options for voice, data, and texting + family plan variants. evenVPhys said:We need this chart with 2-year contract pricing added.

I agree. My wife uses firefox on her pc and there is a norton bar, a bookmark bar, and a yahoo bar. Drives me nuts. Firefox on my Mac is minimal, but I LOVE how minimal chrome is.D4Danger said:They shouldn't even be an option imo.

Where'd you find all the info about the underlying tech?LCfiner said:video is transferred via wifi but it still needs the phone line for the voice communication and for connecting the call in the first place.
presumably, other apps, like skype, can tap into the camera and use it for their apps too.

They'll typically let you move to a more expensive plan but not a cheaper one.Foob said:no..my 3g is the first real phone i've ever had, so i don't have a whole lotta experience with changing plans.

Extensions have moved on. We don't need thesethings hanging off the browser like a pair of fuzzy dice.
I was referring to losing your unlimited option. Saving money I understand though, just remember you most likely won't be able to get unlimited data again.Foob said:no..my 3g is the first real phone i've ever had, so i don't have a whole lotta experience with changing plans.
It did that for me once but now it's always using the progress bar, so I dunno. Maybe quit Safari and try again?mrkgoo said:!!!!
Actually, I don't get it.
My progress bar loads halfway, then it switches to the rotating cog on the refresh icon. What gives?

Well, put like that it makes sense. And I agree that the Mac dev community wouldn't dirty it up too much.LCfiner said:considering how vocal and anal the Mac development and blogging community is, I dont think therell be a surplus of ugly, bloated extensions.
That shit wont fly on the platform.
I could see myself using a couple light extensions here and there and I dont expect to install a single toolbar. but I dont mind that the option is there.
Arent we glad Apple is allowing developers more options these days? :lol

So do they have to be approved by Apple or is this something optional?Safari Extensions Gallery.
When youre ready to share your Safari Extensions, you can submit them to the Safari Extensions Gallery, which will open later this summer. The Safari Extensions Gallery will give users an easy place to find your extensions and download them from your website.
You're right, it only did it the first time. Cool beans.fireside said:It did that for me once but now it's always using the progress bar, so I dunno. Maybe quit Safari and try again?

ChoklitReign said:So I'm getting a new phone this summer. I'm currently using a shitty Verizon flip-phone. Should I get a smartphone or the new iPhone?
I need a phone with:
-A good keyboard
-A web browser
-A good camera (3-5 MP)
-Good battery life
-GPS navigation
I don't really need apps and the phone should be as cheap as possible ($100 or less including plan). I might also switch providers. Verizon doesn't work well around my area but I'll be moving to Austin, TX in August. I heard AT&T works well there. Any help?

dunno. i'm ambivalent at the crush of pixels on the screen. playing with a coworker's EVO was marvelous with that screen size. it's not as pixel dense as the iphone, but still works well enough.lunarworks said:Sweet mother of god. THAT is the screen resolution?
Hearing about it is one thing. Seeing it is another. That puts every phone out there to shame. (I still love you, Nokia 5800.)
