WWE Backlash |OT| Guaranteed to last longer than one round

Only downside of the ppv was Alexa not winning

Can we please talk about Alexa with the twintails?

Can we?

mmph

Also: Raw's first solo PPV has a lot to live up to considering their roster. Backlash was a lot of fun despite how poop the card looked. Raw has a lot of big names, and if their show ends up being worse, well.

Well, I'll shake my finger at them, that's what.

All I look forward to now is Ambrose beating the snot out of Styles.

Great PPV all things considered though. Ofc Styles cant win clean, none of his ilk usually do against someone like Dean Ambrose. for a b+ player, you need to cheat and he did that. good for him.

Pretty sure Triple H was the one who closed the deal to sign AJ, so that by default makes him, along with every other indie guy signed, a "Triple H guy".

Sure Triple H had a lot to do with Styles being signed to the WWE, but as far as convincing creative that he was top guy belt worthy, that was AJ winning over Vince.

What I find funny are the fans who thought Styles would win clean over Ambrose. No way was that going to happen. Ambrose beat Reigns and Rollins clean, he damn near beat Triple H. Styles is great but there was no doubt in my mind that he wouldn't beat Ambrose in a non-clean fashion.

He's a heel. He did what he had to do.
Yep. This isn't some bullshit just to protect Dean. It'll actually add to AJ's character and he'll own it. People should want stuff like this to happen when it's a guy like AJ. It classic booking that has worked for forever.

Every guy has to win over Vince though. I think people overestimate how much Triple H can influence Vince's decisions. lol

Enjoy it while it last, marks.

Or Eddie / Benoit

by the looks of it Dean didnt even know how to hook his arms properly, AJ literally shook Deans arms off him to correct the positioning

yeah, and i iterally can't explain how that's possible..i mean it's not like it' s all improvisation and they are 2 indie guys that just met for the first time 20 minutes before the match...it's wwe we are talking about..knowing how to take your opponent finisher should be basic..especially since the styles clash isn't even that difficult to take..we are not talking about something eleborate

I want to see AJ in a legit Iron man Match. It could be Bret vs Shawn Michael caliber depending on his opponent, it would be god tier.

AJ vs Lesnar
AJ vs Rollins

Those 2 would probably make for goat 60 min iron match.

Styles vs DB as well would be epic for iron man if DB didn't retire.

People are being really weird about heels doing heel shit to win lately. AJ got his big clean win over Cena last month and looked great in this match. The lowblow does nothing to hurt his credibility.

There's no proof of that. Brisco and Regal scout for the WWE as well as people on legends contracts. AJ has also been on their radar forever on and off. Same with Roode.and Joe. Hell, Foley was the one who recommended Joe.

Trust me, Triple H would have let it be known he signed AJ if he had

If you watch that Stone Cold podcast with AJ as guest, listen to what AJ says. I don't mean this in a bad way, but he comes off as a company guy. AJ is honestly excited to be in the WWE, he loves working with the talent, and it sounds like he's thinking longer term in still being involved when the wrestling days come to an end. AJ 100% bought in to WWE and so Vince 100% bought into AJ

What has happened to Dean the last year or so? He looks so slow and cumbersome in the ring and his physique is completely gone? His offensive i think has always been terrible so he should thank God AJ near killed himself bumping for him.

I don't see how it's dangerous at all? The only danger comes from not tucking. If you don't understand how to take one move I wouldn't feel safe working with you.

It's not like any of Seth's bullshit.

isn't that the opposite?
itf you tuck your chin,it will basically broke your neck on the spot..the trick is NOT TO TUCK and let the chest take the impact

now since the roster isnt that deep I assume Dean gets a rematch for the title, but who feuds with AJ from here that is even close to the caliber not just match quality but also with the fans as well. It's almost like they need to call up someone from NXT, because the smackdown roster dont cut it.

He figured out he has a job for life

he's worse than Kevin Nash but doesn't get anywhere near the shit for it

That may have been a botch at the end, but in kayfabe, it looked to me like Dean fighting to avoid getting put in the Styles Clash, which is a really nice touch and makes Dean look tough that he was still fighting after getting kicked in the nuts.

Notice that he didn't take a picture with AJ just like he does everybody. Could be wrong in a couple of minutes though.

Ziggler and Orton depending on how long he's out.

Thats why Sami should have been on Smackdown. Raw is too overcrowded with guys who could be in the Main Event picture, SD doesn't have enough. Joe's time has got to be coming soon.

Orton is next up assuming he can get cleared. There's also Samoa Joe, who's down in NXT. All you gotta do is turn either him or AJ.

Worse comes to worst, they can trade someone to Raw and get Sami Zayn.

Yep Sami would have had a fantastic feud with AJ but also probably used as well on smackdown and ppv's because they could use his talent

Joe isn't going to debut right in the WWE title picture. Finn only did because Reigns popped and they had to scramble.

Sami vs AJ would be amazing

Sami and AJ are my two favourites. I really wish Sami wasn't on raw having meaningless losses to kevin and rollins and jinder

Weren't Samoa Joe and Cena road buddies in the late 90s?

Pretty sure they started out at the same wrestling school. They could easily turn that into a feud, with Joe being pissed that Cena getting signed to WWE so early in his career while Joe had to spend over a decade on the independents before getting signed.

I honestly can't believe the WWE lets him use it as often as he does given how dangerous it is

Ehhh, Michelle McCool use to use it. As long as you know how to take it, it's no big deal I've never cared for it because the only time it's ever actually looked devastating is when it was fucked up.

Only downside of the ppv was Alexa not winning

But she was the MVP of that match and after she was out of it, shit started to go sideways as it turned into a clusterfuck to get to the finish.

Yeah they both pretty much got their start in UPW, there was a documentary in either 1999 or 2000 that focused on UPW that featured both of them.
