WWE Backlash |OT| Guaranteed to last longer than one round

So weird to see WWE put the strap on guys they didn't create. That NEVER used to happen, unless you were Ric Flair.

Ill never understand this
Vince
mentality. Any sport team wouldnt not use a good player just because he didnt come from their training camps or whatever.

Smackdown needs Zayn and Cesaro to give it a bit more punch. I know Orton injured and Cena going part time put them in a bind, BUT the show clearly needs starpower right now. Raw keeps getting all the new people.

Smackdown needs to turn AJ face (which he already is for the fans anyway) and bring in Joe as a monster heel.

These two plus Joe would be enough for Smackdown's roster. I don't mind Smackdown being the show for building up smaller talents, but you're right that it needs star power and more variety.

LMAO.

So they let AJ get the strap, huh? Good. Congrats kid.

End of Days on AJ will look sick.

I like End of Days :(

As would Sister Abigail but that aint happening.

Who is a created by Vince guy on Smackdown?

Parttimer Cena? Past his prime Orton? Even Miz was on the indies.

Like seriously, what did you expect?

Miz is absolutely a WWE creation, even if he wrestled on the indies. Same with Ziggler on Smackdown. I think the disctinction with guys like KO or AJ is that their wrestling style and characters are something they brought with them, not something that was created by the WWE.

The credibility of Miz has been consistently destroyed. Wrestlemania was his last and biggest moment.

Ziggler... I mean come on.

The only two kayfabe credible(which is Vince decision) are Orton and Cena.

Orton has been out of title races for years. Cena isn't around.

Could have fast forwarded through most of the show, didn't, was reasonably entertained. I liked all the finishes, I thought there was some good story telling in the rings, the wrestling was good.

The argument wasn't whether they are good, it was about which guys on the roster were "WWE creations". Miz and Ziggler just wrestled a title match on a PPV. You may not like them, but they are a fairly significant part of the SD roster.

He needs some time off. They should have everyone Styles beats take a vacation for a while as an actual gimmick

lol! That's actually a good idea. Angle it like AJ put everyone in a world of hurt though each wrestler need time-off after a PPV level event anyhow, which is why you need to have a big roster for rotation.

The show was solid! Not amazing but AJ Style made the show really amazing. That guy is brilliant!! He did what he did did when he fought with Roman, carry the match.

Seeing this pic makes me really wish Punk was still around. Putting his douchebag attitude aside he could be having some killer matches and programs with any of these 3....or Rollins, Ambrose, etc.

Hell yes. 100% true. Case in point, no one can deny his awesome match with Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. That match was brilliantly awesome.

AJ Style vs Nakamura to main event Wrestlemania 33, please.

What an entertaining show....

With the exception of everything involving Bray Wyatt everything was on fire tonight.

Pre Show match was a fun little match

Women's 6 pack was phenomenal, one of the best women's matches they've had in WWE

I'm digging the Usos new look, they needed a change so badly, they might get to be more than just their ethnic background now

Miz vs Ziggler was alright, Ziggler's a fucking joke these day so hard to care but Miz works his ass off so it ended up being a pretty good story telling match

I've given up on the idea that they are ever going to do Bray Wyatt right, I get the whole Randy gets his revenge but it's fucking Kane in 2016, Orton could have gotten his revenge and Wyatt could have been made to look like a million bucks... but it's Wyatt so this is how his stuff goes. Hopefully they'll just keep giving him mic work because dude is still entertaining as fuck...

I've been on team Slater since his debut in WWE, he's a hard working guy who makes losing fun, Rhyno and Slater having really amazing chemistry and it's nice to see an odd couple team that isn't about the normal one acting like the crazy one is a pain in the ass. There's a quiet moment where Slater whispers thank you to Rhyno after they won and it was really cool. Slater is the best thing in WWE right now, so nice to see the OMRB get his due.

What more can be said about AJ Styles, probably brought out the some of the best in Ambrose. Great action, Ambrose totally forgot to sell his calf towards the end but did some great selling up to that point. Killer to see the Styles Clash win AJ the WWE champion. Surreal that they've actually used him properly.

All in all this was an excellent PPV, set the bar pretty high for future brand specific shows, but this is the deepest the WWE roster has ever been so I'm excited moving forward.

Punk wouldn't be able to handle a match with Nakamura.

Owens v. Punk would be awesome because Owens would just constantly shit on him and it'd be awesome.

Punk v. AJ would just be good, but not like this dream match or anything.

As previously reported, John Cena is being kept off WWE television as part of a storyline with AJ Styles and the two are expected to face each other sometime later down the road.

We have learned that Cena is scheduled to work the next SmackDown brand WWE Network special event, presumably against Styles but that has not been yet confirmed. The next SmackDown brand event is WWE No Mercy, which takes place on October 9th. Cena will take another hiatus from the company shortly after No Mercy to start filming the second season of American Grit, which would keep him off WWE programming for the rest of the year.

Cena wrestled the tour in Manila and Shanghai and is scheduled to work Monday's SmackDown WWE Live Event in Fairfx, VA. and Tuesday's SmackDown taping in Philadelphia. It is possible that Cena could setup his next bout with Styles as early as this coming Tuesday.

If Cena is leaving again after No Mercy then dont fucking book him against AJ for No Mercy idiots. Unless its to give AJ a third (lol) win over Cena which would aerve what purpose in the feud?

Don't you dare say that. We'll love AJ forever.

Bro...dont even.

Bray, Seth and Dean..hell The Shield really, we liked Roman as the silent enforcer remember? We said he had the look to go far? Yup we sure did. Anyway, Hunter (we like him again), Rey, Jericho, Finn recently (Finn one cracks me up), im sure theres more :3

Edit: double post was supposed to edit nooooo

I think it's a slap in the face of Ambrose to say that this match was all AJ. Both people put on a hell of a match together.

I thought it was kinda dogshit tbh. Ambrose just looks so bad in action. Props to AJ for trying to work with it.

One thing I'll give credit to Dean for though is his hits as he was getting out of the locks were really good. Looked brutal

Oh and womans match was so good. Naomi botch was hilarious but otherwise everybody but Carmella were doing hella good work.

I think it was a big mistake to eliminate Alexa and Naomi so early. Bliss especially made the match look great.

That is not me disliking anyone.

It is me saying that Miz and Ziggler are not booked in a way which makes them realistic WHC title contenders.

The only realistic Vince guys are Ambrose, Cena and Orton.

Ambrose had the title.

Cena is not around.

Orton injured and out of title races.

That the title goes to a non-Vince guy was a matter of time and fairly obvious if you paid attention.

Why? Cause someone would say he lost in 2 minutes and 14 seconds?

How many of the wrestlers in the WWE can last atleast 14 seconds?

That's not Brock.

Really..
Jack Swagger definitely could give it a legit go, but that dude is never on TV anymore.

Jason Jordon of American Alpha as well.

Both guys are extremely talented collegiate wrestlers and just physically gifted. Things that Punk did not have the advantage of.

Forget Punk, imagine if Bryan was still able to wrestle.

Maybe Gable too.

It's time for some form of reality to kick in instead of this continued OMGZ CM Punk is an embarrassment to everything he's ever done.

The fucker got out classed in a legit fight. So fucking what.

I got out classed once in a fight I should have won. (While I was in the military) it happens.

A few have. Gallagher. Nakamura.

More I'm sure could.

Yes, trying is admirable, but lets not pretend that there aren't a decent number of wrestlers around the world that have had pro fights that they had better showings in than CM Punk had on Saturday night.

Gallagher and Nakamura have both had much better records. Sure, Nakamura also lost his first fight, but he survived longer than Punk did, and lost to a Gracie black belt.

So yeah. There are plenty that could train for two years and do much better than Punk.

The other wrestlers are at least mostly are of the opinion that it took guts to attempt it at all and at least he fulfilled a dream he had.

But yeah, he definitely doesn't have it as a top tier fighter, but he is probably well aware of it himself I imagine unless he's delusional.

Ok.. Wow Nakamura is a legit badass. I did not know that about him. I also didn't mean to come across the way I did in that post. I'm alittle annoyed at the overreaction that Punk is still getting because he lost the way he did.

He got put on his ass and tapped. He was gracious in defeat. None of that screams embarrassment.

Yeah. I hope he hangs it up. It takes as much mental strength as it does physical strength to legit fight whether in the UFC or in a basement.
