early last week, Marvel and DeMayo suddenly parted ways. His company email was deactivated and cast and crew were informed he was no longer on the project. DeMayo’s Instagram account, once a source for X-Men updates, was deleted. No reason for the firing was given.


Marvel had no comment. DeMayo’s representatives did not return calls for comment and emails to the showrunner yielded no response.


It was a surprising turn of events on the eve of the show’s March 20 debut.

Not all families have an issue with something as non-sexual as a kiss in a family film, especially since they‘ve been in Disney films since the beginning.

I mean, Hunchback of Notre Dame in 1996 had sexual harassment, a song about lust, and attempted baby murder and was rated G. Lightyear showed two women kissing and was rated PG. I feel the former is the actually baffling decision in terms of rating, and also I do not sympathize with a parent who feels the need to hide harmless things from their child but is also too lazy to know how movie ratings work. Parental Guidance Suggested. I don’t know how you make it any more clear than that.

Bullshit. Same reason Gunn was fired, although different circumstances. Gunn was fired because Disney was in the middle of the massive Fox merger and the last thing they wanted was 24/7 cable news to be dedicating hours of prime time rage bait to 10 year old tweets some dickwad dug up because he didn't like Gunn. He is not. He wanted the show to be based as close to the original show as possible. He left the Witcher series because they kept ignoring the book. They look like dudes because that's the kind of artist Disney hires.
