I'm getting one. Too cold.
The amount of ignorance here is stupefying...
The Elite controller is not marketed or designed to replace the regular One controller. It is positioned feature-wise and price point to battle SCUF and other custom controller products.
-It is cheaper than those products
-It has more features than those products.
-It is compatible with ALL X1 games.
-It is not necessary to play certain games. The Elite will not transform you into a MLG pro
-It probably is better constructed than those products.
Knowing all of this, I am still scratching my head why posters are coming in here and saying:
-It is too expensive..... (It is cheaper than a SCUF by $50 conservative estimate)
I refuse to believe that we are that clueless. Better people than me can refer to the price of a A-10 Warthog HOTOS for sims, Thrustmaster Steering Wheels, Hori Arcade Stick Pros for fighters or shumps.....
Enough of this $150 is too much nonsense. If it is too much for you, then I respect that. But this product is targeting a market that is willingly paying $200+ for controllers.
Best regards,
Basing that on all the hands-on time you spent with it at E3?
There isn't a controller in the world worth $150 to me. No hands-on time needed.
great info

Best regards,
Steam controller it is then , i was planning of buying a pair and this is way out of my budget
You are a smart individual, it's so obvious yet people here don't understand that this is not the new standard controller, this is an upgrade catered to the hardcore, the elite if you will, it's in the damn name. It's good to have options, why people are getting upset about this is beyond me.
Here is some additional context.
Elite level controllers
Thrustmaster HOTAS Wart Hog Joystick: $407. Perfect for Star Citizen. But why buy when you can play SC with a Mouse and Keyboard?
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00371R8P4/?tag=neogaf0e-20
Mad Catz Pro Racing Force Feedback Wheel and Pedals for Xbox One: $394. But why buy when a regular controller works just fine?
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GSJAQ9W/?tag=neogaf0e-20
Hori Real Arcade Pro: $149. Perfect for SFV..... But why buy when a DS4 will do?

We buy because we want and it makes us feel good![]()

I really don't think any of these are comparable to the Elite controller.
Sorry if this has been answered, but is this the "new" controller that was mention awhile ago with the 3.5 mm headphone jack?

I wonder if they fixed the shitty shoulder buttons that the Xone controller has :|
That thing is sitting in my desk drawer gathering dust. I went back to my wireless 360 controller.

My interest in the controller was getting pretty high until I realized that being able to change the sensitivity of the sticks doesn't mean change the tension of the sticks. As far as I know they are as loose as ever.
100 million dollar controller. Revision of 100 million dollar controler. Elite version of revised 100 million dollar controller, and the sticks are still too loose.

Does the mass market consumer consider themselves an "elite gamer" because thats exactly who MS specifically said this controller was for. You're faulting the wrong party, this is down to MS's stupidity, not people. The vast majority of their customer base (by vast I mean 80-90%+) are not even tangentially aware of SCUF, the Custom Controller Scene, or the general costs involved. You don't put a product like this in your E3 press conference because the obvious implication is that it's a mass market item intended as a replacement for the standard pad.
Yeah but the Mass Market does not watch E3......id bet only 10-20% of Xbox one owners even watched E3, and thats given the high end, its probably more like 5% watched it.You're faulting the wrong party, this is down to MS's stupidity, not people. Well, looks like I'm not going to get my 3 Elite controllers for 137£.

I am referring to this thread where individuals have attempted to contextualize the price, but others still refused to understand and talk cost.
Perhaps I am giving elements of GAF too much credit. We have threads about video cards ranging in the $700-$900 range, and threads talking about arcade sticks with Sanwa-Denshi parts costing $200+. The forum is clearly for videogame enthusiasts.... but now we are talking sticker shock on a luxury product.
But look at the posts after my one, notice that cost is still being talked about....

The Controller itself is an absolute steal in the market that it is in. Like others have posted, the average Scuf controller is somewhere between $175 -$200, and thats without the fact you have to wait 6 weeks for Scuf to deliver it.......
