"competition" is a joke on consoles for most genres. Fighting games have sticks, racing sims have wheels.

This is relevant to people who play games at a tournament level, people who play competitively who have the cash and enough desire as enthusiasts to engage this sort of thing, and people who stream and record content through online channels. Might not be the biggest niche, but not everything has to cater to everyone.

I think this is far more applicable to gaming than say a heart rate sensor, the wii-fit or the wonderbook.

I would say this forum is full of people who earn their own money and as such appreciate the the value of their hard earned cash.
I have enough money to buy his without thinking twice. But for me the product doesn't justify the price.
It's not about bragging how much cash you have, it's about "bang for the buck". 150$ is way too much for a standard controller with optional plastic bits and pieces.

I'm actually a fiend for controllers. I end up with 8-10 controllers by the end of a gen. I'll buy this eventually. Once I feel like dropping 2 1/2 new games worth of money on it.

Yeah, I have a dozen controller options when I sit down to play a game on my computer (if we count m/kb) and still seek out new stuff.

I'll wait for this to sell poorly and be discounted to $90 or less.

If it doesn't break as fast as the cheap shit MS and Sony stuck in the box with their consoles, it'll be a wise investment (for me). I've had to buy 2nd and 3rd dual shock 4s because of broken triggers and shitty analog sticks. Had to buy a 2nd XB1 controller when the left analog stick pretty much just stopped going back to its home position.

There's a difference between not being able to afford something, and thinking economically. The fact of the matter is that most people on GAF could probably afford to buy this controller, but why should they when there are more important things out there that their hard-earned money could be better spent on?

That is a fair point, but if you want to get a controller with all these "pro" features, you will have to pay $150+

It is more than just a standard controller. It even comes with customisable options in the box, so you can flip and change components out with relative ease.

People were hyped by it, of course, and then turned off by the price.

The reality is though, if you want/need these controller options, then be prepared to pay the price for it.

Already have been using a Scuf One for 1.5 years and never regretted it. After having that level of control, never having to take my thumbs off the left or right stick to hit the ABXY buttons feels amazing especially in FPS. Going back to a controller without paddles always feels like I'm playing something archaic lol

I am interested how this one feels since the paddles are done very differently than the scuf style.

Hololens isn't an Xbox accessory, it's a standalone device. It'll probably be in line with high end ultrabooks.
