Being at work, I can't access any of the links you guys are posting about, but last night I went to the Kinect Party page and was presented with 2 links - Trial Game and Full Game. Both listed as free. I followed the "Full Game" link and have Kinect Party queued up to download later.

Ar you saying there's another link (unlock key) that I need to also download, or am I fine with just the "full game" link I originally followed?

Yep, you'll have to grab the unlock key or you'll see the purchase now bits that Noogy did. The thing you saw last night was the unlock key, there is no trial version with this one.

And your second quote,

you are right. Download the game and unlock key before Dec 31st and you'll own a copy of the game. If you miss it you'll have to buy it (individual buying options can be seen above).

CHROME,
HAT isn't included. The stages will just unlock in Kinect Party if you own a copy of HAT. It does include a copy of HAT

If you only download the game, the full set of channels is not unlocked. You have to download the key file which is free only untill 31st.

I predict that a lot of people will only download the main game in this period, check later and realize that they do not have the full game even that they download it in the promotion period.

so ur saying its 2 downloads? do the full game download then the other one after? ill Q up the full game download which is 575.51mb and the other just says kinect party and is 108kb. im pretty sure thats what u need to do guys. good to know in case i download the game but dont play it till next month and find out I missed out

thanks "cani" i deleted my question

Sooooo... when I get home from work I have to go sniffing for an extra file to download. Jeez.

And I assume that by "full set of channels" what it really means is "full set of Kinect Party channels", as half of the channels come from Happy Action Theatre.

Sorry, but I'm just trying to get idiot-proof levels of clear on this as I know I'll have to explain it to friends and family later too.

New Vid: Opening Movie (Warning: This video is abnormally LOUD)

Wow, there's a lot of info from that page. Of special note, all Main and Sub Character have Youtube Demonsration of their special moves. This obviously shows lots of gameplay, lets you hear the voices, etc.

Here's 2 direct Links:

-- Waka Kumon's Move Video
-- M's Move Video

There's a total of 6 of those videos, with English and Japanese versions available (Game has JP voicework, but the english vids have english text.)

You can learn a lot by looking around the site. Some things of note:

  • Confirms 800msp.
  • The game has 4 main playable story characters, and 2 additional sub characters that can be played exclusively in the CO OP or Battleground Modes.
  • The control scheme and Layout are listed there.
  • Backstory of game
  • Character profiles and special move list
  • Rots of Engrish!

Considering this is a game we've only seen 1 trailer before in the past, this is a large infodump.

I think they will poke around as I did. Even though I downloaded the 'full free game', I couldn't actually play anything for more than a few seconds, since I was presented with a "buy the full version!" prompt. Unfortunately there seemed to be no way to download the free unlock key through my 360 (or even to buy the game with money, which I would have gladly done).

Oh well, first day of launch, hope these details are tidied up asap. Now that I've got it unlocked, some of the new games are rad.

I just put all 3 of the available downloads including the Star Gazer(it says its a channel, not sure if this is something extra or if its already included in the full game?) in my download Q just to be safe. Im sure ill check the game out soon but there is always a chance i wont get to it till next month or something.

My point is that there are a lot o people that may only "buy" the full game and not the key using xbox.com and only check the game in 360 after the holidays (out of town, busy, etc). They may discover that they do not own the game a little bit too late. Poor communication is ro blame.

Buy the way there is a second key free on the marketplace, what is that?

I might grab Bully as the retail price is ridiculous and my BC PS3 gave up the ghost recently. Is it £7.99 in the UK? The Xbox site keeps giving me the US price.

In the address bar change "/EN-US/" to "/EN-GB/", and then reload. You'll get the UK prices then.

Always happens with me. I'll be on the UK site but as soon as I click on "Deal of the Week" or anything that takes me to the marketplace, it switches to the US site.

Annoys the crap out of me.

Buy the way there is a second key free on the marketplace, what is that?

Star Gazer is an individual channel.

If you download the main key, you get EVERYTHING (inc Star Gazer)!

If you download the Star Gazer key (but not the main key), you get the demo games plus Star Gazer.

Basically, Kinect Party works like the Hasbro games. The "shell" is free. You pay for the individual bits.

The team that worked on Scott Pilgrim must be pretty flattered right about now : )

Especially with the coins flying everywhere (though that's pretty River City Randsom, really)

Also take note of:
  • CLUB SEGA in the background
  • A 4DS sign?
  • Bullet Soul Poster
  • Guardian Heroes Line shifting
  • Teching out of hitstun
  • Easy Special Moves (Phantom Breaker style, actually!)
  • All the top button commands can be done with button binds, so it really plays like a 4 button olschool arcade game.

It's got a solid list of inspirations behind it, and it all seems to be coming together legitimately well. Gameplay, presentation, and sound wise, it's hitting all the proper buttons for me, so I'm actually pretty impressed. (It looks much more well-rounded than the base game it's an offshoot of, really... which is kinda odd!)

This is incorrect.

The free version of Kinect Party includes all of the KP games as well as all of the DFHAT games.

Even if you don't own DFHAT, you will still unlock all of the stuff in KP. The free version of KP makes DFHAT completely pointless (save for the achievements).

All of these were £8.99 on the UK store yesterday. They're usually around £14.99-£19.99.

Can anyone confirm if they've gone down further as I find it hard top believe the Lego Games are up at £8.99 as a standard price. When othe GoD stuff was on sale recently (GTAIV, for example), they were listed at £8.99 for their sale price, so I'm inclined to think that we somehow got them reduced a day early.

Also, there is no links at all to indicate any kind of sale on the UK marketplace/xbox.com at all... wtf, MS!?!!

For some reason MS have been reducing the daily deals a day early (Rayman is part of tomorrows deal. 8.99 squids is the sale price.
There's a panel on the frontpage of the UK dash but yeah, they are pretty shitty about advertising stuff outside of NA.

Nice, picked up Mark of the Ninja. Already have it on PC, but playing it on a proper TV and not a laptop sounds like a good idea :)

Everything shown about that game hasn't been a good sign, sadly...

Yep, if it doesn't show up tomorrow it might have been a temporary victim of THQ filing for bankruptcy.

A few new games popped up today,

GodMode,

Trailer

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/12/19/god-mode-announced-for-xbla-psn-and-pc

Saber Interactive (makers of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Inversion, and TimeShift, among others) and subsidiary Old School Games have announced God Mode, a tongue-in-cheek fast-action third-person shooter due out in early 2013 for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC.

Playing as the descendant of an ancient-God-turned-mere-mortal by Hades, you and up to three co-op mode friends (online or offline) must blast your way through the Maze of Hades and its denizens in order to avoid eternal damnation. All the while, you'll be egged on by a goofy narrator, similar to a wackier version of the "Double Kill" announcer from Halo.

"It doesn't take itself too seriously," Saber Interactive and Old School Games head Matthew Karch told IGN. "It is lighthearted fun and focuses on arcade style action over a deep story. I think this makes sense for downloadable games, where players are looking for some quick, thoughtless action."

Character customization, environmental destruction, weapon upgrades and more are the key tenets of the game, which appears to be almost a cross between Serious Sam and Gears of War's Horde mode.

"The first thing we do is tell you how you died," Karch said. "We have come up with some pretty fun ideas for that and they definitely add some lightheartedness to the game."

Old School Games, Karch clarified to IGN, is "a studio that Saber started that focuses on high quality, low-cost downloadable titles. The studio uses Saber's technology and development platform to create games that look like retail products, but we have kept it as a separate and isolated studio to allow the team to focus exclusively on these types of games."

WRC Powerslide,

http://www.wrcpowerslide.com/

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/...werslide-Announced-By-Milestone-For-XBLA.html
Milestone has today announced WRC Powerslide, the latest title in the officially licensed FIA World Rally Championship series. It'll be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade as the studio's first game developed for digital distribution, with three modes of play, cars from several rally classes and 8 different rallies.

WRC Powerslide throws in a twist to the usual WRC fare, with an isometric top-down viewpoint and power ups dotted around the course to speed up your car or slow down your opponents. Featuring Quick Race, WRC Tournaments and Multiplayer Quick Race, WRC Powerslide aims to provide something where "the action will be frenetic as never before".

You'll be able to race against opponents on the rally Special Stage, as well as being able to choose cars from WRC Class, Class 2 and Class 3 categories. Check out the first screenshots for WRC Powerslide below, all 25 of which can be viewed in the gallery.

WRC Powerslide is out on XBLA in early 2013.

No it's not, it's a great game, there's nothing weird about people wanting other people to try it at all.
Yes, it's weird. Mark of the Ninja is an excellent game, but it doesn't have the same fandom surrounding it. I think it's the cutesiness charm of Fez that gets people worked up. And maybe the fact that it has detractors makes fans mobilize.

It sounds like you think people not championing Mark of the Ninja is weird, not that people championing Fez is weird. That's like saying it's weird for people to like chocolate because no one talks about how good fruit cake is.

Mark of the Ninja and Fez are very different kinds of platformers though, and I wouldn't say the artstyle has anything to do with people championing either of them. I have yet to play Ninja past the demo though.

Despite the negativity behind the creator, Fez is a unique game with interesting mechanics and it requires some thinking outside the box, this is why people fuss over it.

Ah, I took it in a "the fact that this happens is weird" sort of way. Misread. I guess it's better to talk lots than not at all though, even if people do see it as desperate.

I'm not saying otherwise. Just has a different nature. I do think it's just what happens with fanbases when there's an opposition, like with Fez. They become a bit more fervent. Anyway this is getting silly.

Fez was also endlessly hyped, which probably adds to its fan base. Mark of Ninja came out of nowhere for most people.
This also makes sense.

Fez is very different to anything else that has come out for a while, in a way that makes people mad for it. A whole layer of secrets on top of secrets makes that happen a lot.

Mark of the Ninja is ALSO very different to anything else.

I think they're both essential, even if Phil Fish is a dick. EDIT: and it sounds like Fez's programmer who did the actual work was badly abused. Hopefully he parlays it into a massively successful career, though.

Didn't know there were Character Trailers for Sacred Citadel. Thanks for posting them!

I'm glad that it, and Phantom B. Battlegrounds already offer some Beat-em-up / hack-and-slash options for the new year... It's rare to be able to expect anything new in those genre's (especially if you don't count Koei's "Warriors" games in the same genre) in the first place, so 2 promising ones coming soon-ish is great!
