Xbone Day One Editions Slip at Retailers?

and so it begins. All I know is that at my gamestop, I am the first person to reserve and pay off both my PS4 and the Xboxone..... so I should be good to go!

Sometimes I'm embarrassed to be an Xbox fan.

Because someone that constantly trashes MS posted a bullshit story about them from a site no one has ever heard of? MS has given you many reasons to be embarrassed to be a fan, but this isn't one.

CYA language as usual. All retailers must do this. Are you going to sue BB because of an accident that caused an entire shipment of PS4s or Xbox ones to be destroyed? They have to provide this language so that they have an out if something comes up.

You forgot to call GAF as Sony-land, that would complete your post.

Have you ever pre-ordered anything?
NO ONE can 100% guarantee a product will arrive at your door or be in-store at a certain date.
When i went to pre-order a PS4 at Gamestop the only guarantee they gave me was that i would have it before Christmas.

The whole point of the Day One edition was that is was supposed to be guaranteed for launch day, hence the name DAY ONE.

MS just couldn't meet the numbers they promised, which is why the talk of yield problems.

Ordered mine from Microsoft first day I could. If it's not here on the 22nd, I'm going to cancel and wait it out until the first price drop, this shit is (potentially) unacceptable.

Oh, I didn't bother reading the rest of the thread lol. Not aware of the OP's antics either.

Sometimes I'm embarrassed for jumping the gun.

No. Why can't you understand that once it leaves Microsoft's hands, they can no longer guarantee anything about when the product will arrive. Shit happens and this is cover your ass language. Nobody makes a hard guarantee on a release date because all sorts of things can happen. This doesn't prove anything about yield issues. This is just standard language in any policy.

Man, I can't wait for the shit storm when someone analyzes the Xbox One's terms of service agreement and acts like it's the first time anyone makes such stipulations.

Why would I post something I don't believe. I've read enough of your posts to know your schtick. It's a reflection of you, not the site.
MS gets trashed here quite often as well, surprised you didnt make that jump. Please continue with your ad-hominem.

Don't tangle up this thread with legal jargon. Disrupts the message this thread is trying to send ;)

I have a feeling that it will snow in phoenix for time first time in like a 100 years on nov 22nd.

And for the record, Best Buy said the same thing about the Wii U at its launch last year. I know because I had to order from them since Amazon apparently doesn't sell Nintendo hardware. As you've said, it's standard.

I took the 22nd and the entire next week off. No biggie, if I don't have my XB1 pre-order on Friday, I'll just go new computer shopping on the weekend and return the XB1 to BestBuy on Monday when it arrives.

TBH I don't want "Day One Edition" tattood on the controller I think it looks ugly. But I prefer the look of the Day One box over that ugly ass lime green standard box.

Damn so they'll order as many as they can and it's first come first serve? Fuck

With the Wii U, Best Buy told me that the order in which people pre-ordered didn't matter. If you pre-ordered and there weren't enough consoles to fill all pre-orders, the people that got them were the people with pre-orders that showed up the soonest to collect it. Thus they can't guarantee units 100% even to people that pre-order.

And you're sure they can't meet the numbers because?...................

Just asking because I read a lot about yield, but then I see upclocks and those two don't normally go hand in hand.

Isn't that just a generic disclosure to give ms/best buy an out?

Edit: after looking at op again, this isn't news. Someone just read the disclosures and made it seem like news. This is just legal jargon.

So, apparently there are at least 200 GAF members who have never been through a console launch before?

Manufacturers hardly ever guarantee anything regarding delivery timing. If the UPS truck gets jacked by the GTA IV crew, they don't want to be held liable.

Is there actual news here or is that it?

It's essentially what you just said. Everyone is just covering their butts like every other launch.

But of course, people rushed in here to get their jokes said and done

As many people have stated, the language is CYA language and is par for the course for every single launch ever. This is the same reason why any purchase agreement that involves shipping will always have force majeure terms.

Also this "article" seems to be centered on calling Best Buy customer service. Have any of you guys ever called customer service? They are completely clueless.

I would bet that, except for a few exceptions, most of the Day One consoles will actually get there Day One.
