Xbone Day One Editions Slip at Retailers?

I would wait for an update from him, after the whole RYSE 900p debacle...

I've got the 2nd overall pre-order slot for the Day One Edition reserved at my Walmart. I better fucking get it on Day One LOL.

And?

Are Microsoft supposed to take responsibility for everything that happens between them shipping consoles from their factory to the point where it reaches your home?

Is that what people assume to be a realistic expectation?

So MS is responsible for shipping from the factory, international delivery services, retail management and local postage services?

Why is it juniors post this nonsense?

As a supply chain professional, I just have to respond.

The answer is 110% absolutely yes. Microsoft is wholly responsible for the performance of their vendors and suppliers.

Transportation is typically very reliable. I'd worry much less about that leg than the manufacturing portion.

So you're implying that he is lying? What in the world would he have to gain by lying at this point?

Honestly, it is like some people have never experienced a console launch before. Sure, they promise to fulfill those pre-orders but they aren't explicitly saying everyone will get those pre-orders on launch day. It is to be expected to some extent.

Seriously, both Microsoft and Sony are engineering probably two of the smoothest launches in recent memory and people are complaining about possibly getting their console a day or two late. I can remember past launches and you were lucky to get a console period. Trying to find one online was a joke as they sold out too fast. The two launches combined will probably produce more consoles than ever before but people will still moan. I don't expect that my PS4 will definitely be at my house on launch day. I reserved three days off from work just so I can be home to get it and I even think it might get there later. I'm a prime member but even that isn't a surefire guarantee during a console launch.

I don't know man, i've seen a lot of console launches. The One is starting to take the cake with how bad a company can keep making mistakes. This PS4 launch on the other hand, is turning out to be one of the smoothest. I'm actually impressed how little has gone wrong for sony this time around.

Shocking news

It's possible that not everybody who ordered a Xbox will get it on launch day.

It's almost as if half this thread slept through all previous console launches.

Whats this about forcing bundles? usa only as ive got console only preorder in uk without issues.
its actually the UK thats supposedly is forcing bundles, it all bullshit, this however I'm not sure.

Well, I'm ignoring the DRM fiasco and solely focusing on the hardware creation/shipping part of the launch that Amazon and Walmart see with my statements - inventory, basically. The other part Microsoft most definitely screwed up royally.

Even just taking that into account, it doesn't seem like the smoothest. Hardware creation wise you have a less powerful box, in a bigger box, with an external power brick. With too many rumors of being behind Sony, dating back to before e3. Which is maybe why they are delivering to so few countries at launch at a later date.

Console launches supply never meet demand, this is true. Happens every time. But smooth launch, this is not.

I saw this from a mile away. Day One is just an edition you can preorder. Doesnt mean guaranteed day 1. Just means more sales for MS from people thinking so. lol

Whether this turns out to be true or not is the reason I preorder multiple consoles. I all but guarantee myself one and may have extras for people who wanted it but couldn't get one.

Didn't they start making the standard consoles before the Day One editions? I swore the first one off the line was the standard one.

Global? Wait..we are second tier in the netherlands and other country's. So 13 country's is global for them?

Yeah since when isn't more then one country not international or global?

/Dutch guy.. They better not fuck my german microsoft store preorder.
Funny thing is the X1 from the german microsoft store will be dispatched from Eindhoven in the Netherlands :'(

Fucking lol..they won't bring it out in 2013 but hey we ship it from the netherlands though to other country's in the EU!

Interesting.

I'm picking this up for my sister on friday for Xmas, no idea what I'm gonna get (have a day one guarantee card) and I don't think she cares too much what edition it is or isn't (shes a very casual gamer) but for those who were adamant about getting the day one edition on day one, its sort of a strange thing to be revealed lol.

Cosco cancelled mine earlier.
Best Buy just called my friend saying he will not get his on Friday.

wtfffffffffffff

Wait, what?
They don't run their system like that, so I'm going to call this false until otherwise. Their garbage practice of first come first serve makes this statement make no sense this far in advance of the launch.

Man sony needs to rush to restock PS4. If you can buy PS4 over the next couple of week but not xbone...huge sales

Even though I passed on the launch of the PS4, if stores stocked more of it before Xbone Day One editions arrived, I'd buy one just to join in the fun.

Sams Club and Cosco should have a few, they don't do pre-orders and they don't expect a lot of people to show up in the morning. If you show up around 7am, you might get one. Stores open at 9 am. Good Luck

So which is it? Do they take pre-orders or not? Sounds like you're just making stuff up because it's the internet
