XBOX 360 E

What?

I don't like the look of this new slim model. It looks like Microsoft tried to put the Xbox 360 slim and Xbox One design into one box. But those designs styles don't compliment each other, in my eyes. I do like the design of the One though.

The 360 S is one of the best looking consoles ever IMO. This just looks OK, and they take away ports for the same price. I'll pass.

Too bad it wasn't super small and $120 for the 4GB model. I would have bought one for my nephews overseas.

I bit on the E model a few weeks ago. It's a tad quieter than the 360S but nothing to write home about. I mainly just got it to refresh my warranty as we head in to next gen. The last thing I need is for my 360 to red ring for the handful of games I'll want to play on it in 2014. It's nice to have real buttons again too.

I like the appearance of the new 360, and the loss of those old ports is of no consequence to me (I realize others are still rocking ancient receivers or using headsets).

However, there is no reason to replace a working Slim with this so I'll probably never own one.

You know I actually picked on up last week because my 2 year old daughter tried to insert a PB&J sandwich into the drive of my X360 Slim.

I like it. Some thoughts.

- I think the design is pleasantly simple, and it has that classic-electronic, liquid black coolness aesthetic to it.

- It's extremely quiet. It's so quiet I had my wife stand next to it and she couldn't tell it was turned on.

- It use to take FOR-EV-AH for my profile to load up (realistically, probably a good 45 seconds to load). Even going to my recent/pins it would take another 20-30 seconds to load. Well I decided not to transfer the data from my Slim to the E and just use the cloud to transfer saves, and then redownload the games I wanted and it now loads up (almost) like a snap and no where NEAR the time it too before.

The only advantage I see is that the eject button isn't horribly designed on the E like it is on the S. God the 360S' eject is a colossal piece of crap.

The "Touch" Eject and Power buttons are WAY too close together. I can only image how many times someone will try to eject a disc and accidentally turn off the console.

Maybe it's Microsoft's way to get people to hate disc based games even more.

The E's buttons are actual buttons, not touch sensitive.
