I'd like to use a hint coin here please.

SOMEONE JUST EXPLAIN THE DAMN THING

LOL I can't help but laugh. Between the picture, the revised pictures and the people asking. LOL

I don't like the design either really.

I can't unsee Pac-Man in the original picture.
:(

Well, it was announced at E3 and it was to match the Xbox One design.

That actually is confusing though. Why would you want to remodel an old unit 360 to look like a new model One?

I mean I don't know how much consumers might be tripped up by it, but it is sort of a weird idea.

It's not weird. It's so they both mirror the same design aesthetics while sitting in your media center. It's better to have similar-looking devices sitting on your shelf than a mismatch of designs.

Now, I'm not running out to buy one, mind you, but it makes sense from a unified product design standpoint.

It's one thing to have a 'scheme' - a general design philosophy - then to actively try to match the design to each other and make them sort of twins. Then it just looks confusing in an entertainment system instead imo :P

Is the circle the eye of an all-encompassing white Pac-Man? I see that the controller is unhappy, perhaps because it is getting eaten?

Problem is if my Xbox dies, I can just buy an old one for ÂŁ30 now!

Don't know how they keep selling! Would like to see the total sales on this new model

I still have no idea what we're supposed to be seeing in that image. I see a small circle drawn to the left of the system and controller, which don't look modified in any way.

If you 'get it', kindly fill the rest of us in? Lol. Otherwise I'll assume you don't see anything either.

So I don't always look at pictures with added circles and some like-lines,
but when I do, I still don't have a clue what I should be looking at.

Trying to connect the dots.
This cheaper to produce Xbox 360 model could have launched cheaper but I'm thinking Microsoft will drop the price of Xbox 360 around the same time Nintendo drops the price of Wii U...

It isn't identical to the Xbox One, it was meant to follow its boxed design philosophy - So it'd fit into your 'home cinema center' alongside your Xbox One, for that 360 backwards compatibility.

I would not be surprised if Microsoft were to drop this to $100 to start off the holiday shopping season.

That way, they will mix the Xbox One launch numbers with the Xbox 360 to say Xbox sales are good.

Whatever that means.
