Xbox 360 Live demo availability thread

Are there any European exclusive demos?

I have an account to check that also, but I haven't done it in a while and I'm in the middle of downloading two from Japan so I can's sign out.

There is at least one exclusive euro demo that I can think of: LMA Manager 2007

just wanted to say that. has anyone played it yet? I downloaded the demo but I can't get myself to start playing.

I'm fearing that I will be pissed off that it's already over and then rush out to buy the actual game. Management sims absorb so much time.

Tenchu is ok.

It's looks basically like how you would have expected Tenchu to look on the original Xbox except with the power of X360 the draw distance is amazingly good. But the animation and controls are stiff and the models and environments are piss-poor.

The create-a-ninja feature seems pretty limited and man are some of the female faces disturbing.

One thing that's kinda wierd (And you can see it in the videos) is that instead of getting behind people and doing an instant kill, you now grab them Splinter Cell style and then kill them. I prefer the old way of quick instants.

Anyone know how to drag dead bodies? I couldn't figure it out.

K, just finished DLing, the demo does play on my US system, so I cn only assume it's totally region free.

Reaching a lot, but let's hope all the Bringing it Home stuff follows suite... LO, baby!!

Bebpo, RB with your weapon away + X grabs bodies, a la Sam again. I can only assume the grabbing instead of straight to kill is something that you can do one way or the other somehow, or it affects gameplay some other way.

LT + X sheates/draws your weapon. Affects how visible you are. Yeah, there seems to be a light meter, again a la Splinter Cell. Much less "sensitive" however. You can still be in pretty plain sight from afar and "hidden"/crouching and you'll be fine.

Edit: Yeah, it was obvious but I got it. Weapon sheated = Grab, choke, and walk around then kill. If you have your weapon out, it's more standard Tenchu insta kill animation.

I'm a stealth fan, and loved (the good) Tenchu(s), but I must say I like it so far. The mission sttructure and missions themselves (not to mention online) could very well bomb, a la the last Tenchu, but the basis is here for a solid Tenchu title.

Kinda in comparison to Tenchu I finally grabbed the 720p Kengo Zero trailer and it looks WAAAAAAY better than Tenchu. It's a shame the game supposedly sucks, because graphically it looks pretty nice for a game from a smaller developer. The models and animation completely own Tenchu ^^;

One thing I like is that blood accumulates on your character and stays there unlike Dead Rising where it fades away real quick. Also all the dead bodies in the level stay where they are :P

What would make Tenchu X360 a title worth buying is if there was a level creator and you could upload/download user-made levels online.

Man it seems like nobody cares about Tenchu :(

I think the level is fine (though I would like some better AI one day), but since the actual fighting is terrible, the boss fight is pretty awful.

Standing on top of a building and seeing the entire level is pretty awesome though. Draw distance FTW!

The presentation is quite nice but the 3D match engine didn't seem very convincing to me. A lot of the players seemed to run around like headless chickens unlike with Football Manager's now rather refined 2D match engine. FM2007 is out for the 360 in November so I don't mind waiting a little bit for my management fix :)

Yeah. The only problem with that is it makes the draw in (or ghost in here, heh) a bit more noticable when it does happen. Iw ould have given up a little draw distance for all the (oh so polygon pushing) character models to be shown. Oh well, no biggie.

And, on AI, it mimicks a lot of what Tenchu 360 does. It won't change any minds, and for better or worse pretty much emulates all the other Tenchus, right down to the AI, wonky animations, and so on.

But it does have a few neat treats for fans, which is cool. The stealth kills are pretty uninpressive, however, and there aren't that many. Hopefully you unlock more for the CC later on.

I said before, I'm a Tenchu fan, so this really helped my interest. Can't wait to hear how the rest of the missions are, and how good the CC and Live use are.

P.S. Any clue what killing people at the "right" time (heartbeat/red kanji[?] ring) does, aside from a neat "schwing" noise? My best guess is similar to WoH's stealth kills, some sort of counter that you fill to obtain something. *shrug*

I'm all over this demo as soon as I get home today. Just tell me how to create a Japanese gamer tag; the address is no problem, but how does one go about creating another account on the same system?

I'm sure I'll like this game a hell of a lot more than you do. I think Bebpo + Tenchu = No No. :)

EDIT: Did they take it down? :( Maybe that makes sense since the demo release date is supposed to be the 22nd, or at least I thought it was?

arne, you came to the thread but you missed the reason you were summoned

op_ivy said:
no shit? why was it removed? was it a timed thing, or were there problems with it ala king kong?

yeah it was timed. If you try to play it now it says all free offers must come to an end or some shit. it was discussed on the last page

:lol yes, I meant snakex's post

I guess they don't care much since they have proven that they can region code the marketplace content when they want to

Shyeaa! Excellent!

Isn't that like the 3rd time the Japanese side has put up a demo and immeadiately taken it down? :lol

Here's a pic of the draw distance for those who didn't grab it:
ninja001.jpg

And a pic that shows it's a heck of a lot better than the PS2 graphics even if it's still not so great:

Lyte Edge should loooooove it. After going through it about 5 times I think I'll probably pick it up. It's the first time Tenchu has been fun for me since Tenchu 3 and now it's not horribly ugly! Hopefully they'll do a Shinobido game on X360 as well since Shinobido >>>>>>>>>> modern Tenchu :P Speed kills FTW.

For the record, you need to create said live account with a Japanese hotmail/passport email, and it will automatically associate it with being a Japanese market account.

And thanks for
not
answering
when I asked ;_;
, arne. :D

Haha, what timing. Thanks for saving me the pleasure of snapping shots, Bebpo. I was just gonna do the same. Yay.

That looks pretty nice. :)

I still think Fatal Shadows is better than Shinobido. :P BTW, have you tried Kanawaza, Bebpo? It's by Acquire, and instead of a ninja, you play as a thief. The engine looks just like Shinobido's, but without all the choppiness (or at least, what I played of it wasn't choppy and had a solid frame rate) The game came out at the end of August, and seems to have slipped under everyone's radar.

I haven't just because so much has come out recently. I'd be willing to give it a try since I like Acquire though.

I agree FS is better than Shinobido but that's just because Shinobido has framerate issues and the physics are slooooow. If they put it on X360 and made it 60fps with normal speed physics it'd be > Tenchu IMO :)

Uh, dude. that's like 4 houses and a church. GRAW's helicopter scenes and the Just Cause demo absolutely wipe the floor with this . . . although, from the looks of it, somebody wiped SOMETHING with it already.

You must not have played Tenchu before.

They aren't really known for great draw distances :P

JeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeZUS, stop hating on Tenchu. It's not like all the games are like that, hell, not even the PSP version you're showing is that bad all the time. You didn't even know you could switch to FPS view and see further...I still remember! :lol

(I still love you though :D)

Yeah the PS2 ones are better but I think comparing the best to the worst shows how big of deal the best is :)

With draw distances, sure...I guess. But Tenchu Shinobi Taizen was a fun game, plus it has an awesome level editor. I take the 360 version doesn't have one?

You want to talk Tenchu CRAP, nothing, NOTHING comes close to how bad the DS version is.

Out of nowhere, there's a Fusion Frenzy 2 demo in the "Bring it home" section.

any impressions on this yet? i'm at work so i can't play it. looks like it's being developed by hudson... that's good news right? weren't they the ones that developed the mario party series?

Still downloading. My computer has problems with my just 'disconnecting from live' when I'm playing a game, not cause I'm playing online or anything, it just drops. Along with having to sign in on Live 3 times before it realizes that it is connected to my router, its annoying.

I donwloaded it last night. It seemed fun, but I only played by myself so its hard to say. It consists of 3 minigames. One where you run around with flame throwers and you have to melt blocks of use with coins in them. 3 types of coins for 1, 3 or 5 points and you can also shoot the other players to knock them down. Another one where you're in the rolling ball cages and the circular platform is covered in a hex grid and you roll over the hexes to 'paint' them your color. Whoever has the most hexes at the end wins obviously, and you can knock the other players off the sides but they respawn after a short penalty. The last game has you in a little forklift thing and boxes spawn on these conveyer belts and you have to bring them back to your corner. You can also steal boxes from other peoples corners

It is pretty fun. Very similar to the original. You only get to play three minigames in it. One with flamethrowers melting blocks of ice and gathering coins, and another where you pick up crates with a little car and try and bring them back to your colored square, and another that is like the Atlasphere minigames from the old one where you try and roll over different lit grids and change them to your color. Very similar to the original, but the controls felt much more solid. You can see small pictures from the other minigames but you cannot play them.

They have the Atlasphere game from the original where the ground falls beneath you and you try to stay in the center, blazing trails (the tron motorbike like game), and one very similar to Twisted System. There are over 40 minigames and about half of them look like variations on the original.

The graphics are nice and clean, but nothing special. You are not able to test out tournament mode or any online components if there are any. It looks to be the same mindless fun of the original game, and hopefully a budget price.
