Xbox 360 Live demo availability thread

The 'new' tag seems to be arbitrary. Like it was posted in the last 2 weeks or something. There should just be a 'new since the last time you logged in' category.

Wow, the new content is fucking terrible. GameFAQs posters could design better themes and gamer pictures. And they want money for this shit?

For so much emphasis on Xbox Live and content downloading, the Marketplace is poorly designed. I hope it gets fixed because its current setup is horrible.

eh, I don't think they are that bad.

They aren't all for me, but i'm considering getting the ballas picture pack cause one of them looks like me and the basketball court picture pack looks pretty good. I'm not really a bball fan, but the one of the NBA logo looks nice.

To be fair GAF posts have been beating that page to the punch in most cases.

I don't doubt it. GAF posts have been beating a lot of things I know about to the punch (fortunately and unfortunately). Hah.

But I guess it would at least let you confirm that something indeed is new or updated if you weren't sure.

About the Condemned demo..it logged me out too. Thought my DSL went out. I saw Belfest playing the demo online on my friends list, so I don't know what's up with that.

Also, they're charging points for additional music for RR6...and they're songs from Ridge Racer PSP. lol...just use custom soundtracks and avoid paying points

It would be a bit better if it was better integrated into the game, but you have to select the track before you start a race. Makes it really pointless, and as you put it, "just use custom soundtracks".

Last two weeks I have checked the download contents for Europe zone. What a joke >not a single content has been updated. No Mission impossible 3 trailer for europe:(
Yesterday, they have finally posted something good>Condemed demo>wow, I had wet my paints during the demo. It is very scary game>had to turn it off. You have my respect FBI guys/gals to have this scary job.

Quake 4 <at this moment.
I wish MS have update some new arcade games>>how about some pinball game?
Feed us with:
Bubble bobble (Live enable)
Golden axe 4 players on Live.
etc...
I know MS has to keep slow with updating of the list, or else will nobody buys the old games which already released.

Downloading from the marketplace is amazingly slow for me. It's to the point where my only option is to leave the console on the entire night and then MAYBE the download is completed when I wake up.
I live in europe btw, I have a really fast connection(downloading anything from my PC is super quick), and I have heard of both others with the same problem, and people that can download a demo within 10 minutes. What the f*ck is up with this?

And yeah, the updating of the europe downloads sucks.

Does every country has its own server center?

I live in Switzerland and my download speed is very fast. And all Demos are available, almost the same time like they post it here.

I was surprised that the Q4 demo worked in multiplayer Live. I played a few rounds... definitely brought back some memories of late-night Quaking in high school.

Yeah, I was playing it (pretty impressed with it, BTW) and I don't think I got disconnected, so it must be an individual thing. :\

fuck, I can barely ever get into a multiplayer game. takes ages, bad xbl implementation. >:(
How is it bad implemation? The demo just came out, there are probably only a dozen or so people playing at any time anyways.

Anybody else getting a choppy intro in Quake 4 when you see the dude floating in space? Its wierd because its seems to be running butter smooth and then it pauses for a second and jumps to catch up. It seems more like lag than a bad framerate.

Also, getting into a Live match is impossible for me. Spent a half an hour looking at CONNECTING followed by XBOX LIVE ERROR.

Has anyone finished the Condemed Demo? I'm stuck at one part where the guy with your gun beats the crap out of you after you walk through the open door. That can't be the end of the demo?

Try going upstairs and look for a fireaxe.

I really enjoyed the Quake 4 experience all the way around. The online mode was just so fast and really a lot of fun in general, and I definitely thank this Marketplace for opening my eyes to that. It's really easy to jump all over a game because of bad reviews, but after getting a chance to play this game on my own time, I've really come to disagree with the low scores for it. I can understand the graphical/framerate issues bugging some people, but as a game, I think it's pretty entertaining from what I've played.

The Condemned demo was great, went and started up the full retail game immediately after.

Note that the full game's first level plays out with more cutscenes plus has the unlockable items to find, though layout/progression is largely the same. You also aren't stiffed weapons-wise, as all the goodies from the demo are actually available in the full game's first level, but remixed in how they are gotten.

Hmm, then why did the trailer state otherwise? Looks pretty cool.

Probably crossed wires between departments, I'd expect the demo within 24-48hrs. Followed by complaints that it doesn't animate like the E3 presentation of course! ;)

Eh, you already had the full game, but downloaded the demo anyway?

Hehe, true.

Why not? I would for any game I'm interested in. Some demos can be very different from the end result, like Oddworld Munch and its first demo. And it is interesting to see any differences (like changes made from an old E3 build) even if generally similar.

And I also wanted to see what they were giving away for free. Sometimes they overdo it, like the CvS2 demo on Xbox Sampler 2...

Hmm well that makes sense.

man, that Condemned demo is fucking amazing. Very very nice. Quake 4 looks okay but the demo was nothing special...

i downloaded the demo a week ago... and bought the game today :)

i was definitely impressed and couldnt realize how i was going to pass it up

Quake 4 on the other hand showed me that the game is piece of shit... it looks horrible and plays like a run of the mill shooter. I think i just laughed when i saw the opening sequence with the body floating in space.

I need to download the need for speed / madden demos... i havent tried them yet.

Me too :lol

But I liked the MP, makes me remember when I stayed nights playing Quake with a 14.4 modem. I love a rocket laucher. :D
