Xbox 360 Live demo availability thread

I didn't play the demo much, but the fighters looked very good. It was the animations I had a problem with. I want more fluidity and realistic looking animations. The guys seemed like they were robots they way they moved around.
 
So is there a way to actually boogie around the ring? I want to float like a butterfly. I miss Ring King..................

Id like to see the boxers legs too. In boxing, the legs can tell alot about the condition of a fighter, especially if a punch really hurt them.

Left stick is all movement without any modifiers held down. The previous games had different views so I'm sure this one will aswell.
 
Obviously the demo looks insane, but I noticed a minor graphical glitch I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed. During gameplay (maybe not all camera angles; I forget) I see a faint black/grey line (perhaps 1-2 pixels wide, literally) running maybe 15% up from the bottom of my screen in the center. No similar glitching in the menus or in any other games - it appeared that it may have been glitching from some sort of film filter that seems to be applied. I'm playing at 720p on a 720p native TV.
 
Cool, sorry I missed it. In the back of my mind I had fears of this being the beginning of heat-related glitching in my 360. Thanks.

There are two movement types in the control settings... Camera Relative Movement is the one that makes you feel as if you have no control at all. The other one (I forget what it is called) lets you move around the ring the way you would expect to.
 
Can't stop playing this demo! After feeling somewhat burned by DOA4 I'm really excited for a 1 player fighting game that's actually fun.

I was trying hard to get DQ'd for elbowing, but all it does is bloody the opponent up and make for a quick win. Groin punches are quite effective as well. :lol
 
Wow, this demo is incredible. I tried starting a two player game, but I'm on my own at the moment. So in the 2 play game I just beat the crap out of the oponent. When it gets to the when the opponent will go down with just a few more punches it turns to First person view from the one taking the damage. The view is brilliant, and if you knock down in the view the first person collapse to the canvas looks amazing. Give it a try, well worth it!
 
FUN. Looks great, sounds great. Love the pan-in camera aswell. Err, it is just that when you knock someone down he spits blood in the exact same way (always), LOL.

What is this first person camera you are talking about? Does it activate when you play a VS game with the second controller? Because I've played it 10 times and done knockouts but I've never seen a FSP camera point.

Yeah, some stuff from the final game is missing from the demo. Like the cut-man mini-game between rounds that lets you fix your boxer's cuts and bruises in the corner.
 
mxz, yes the first person switch of view occurs when I use two controllers to choose a 2 player game and then just pummel one of the boxers (ie just use one controller) and see what happens.
 
heads up all. according to major nelson , the PGR3 demo is now available on marketplace! if you haven't checked out PGR3 yet, now's your chance.

I don't expect to see a GoW demo anytime soon.

Although releasing a seperate single player and multiplayer demo would be smart to get interest in the title.

1.25 GB is not surprising in the least. I'm guessing the demo is a single city. That game is friggin awesome. My fav out of this bunch so far for the 360.

Even if not exclusive I'd still want to have the OXM discs around so I can clear the like demo off my 360 hard-drive but still have it readily playable.
 
When I'm downloading a demo and I turn the controller off (via 'guide' button), does the download stop? Cos when I turn the controller back on its exited the demo download screen and I have to go to download again. Is there a way of turning the pad off pulling the battery compartment on and off?

If you hit the guide button the download does stop. But at least it'll resume where it left off.

The controller turns off on its own if you leave it idle for 10 minutes.
 
since this is the closest thing to a "official xbox live marketplace thread"

new ridge racer 6 music downloads are available on XLMP.
 
So is there any word on a Ridge Racer or PDZ demo on the marketplace? I must admit that I really liked the Quake 4 demo...
 
I'm not much of a multiplayer guy. I know the single player supposedly sucks, but hey, that's what I could find out for myself with a demo!
 
Yeah you're probably right. I was just hoping that someone had some information about upcoming demos - dates and stuff...
 
If you saw someone playing "Full Auto demo", it means they got it from OXM.

And yeah, I agree with bumping this when a demo comes out, and then the ensuing discussion on that demo. Whenever I see this thread get bumped I always get all Christmas excited and look to see whats shown up :lol
