I hate you. I've been downloading it for about 6 hours now and it's at 57%.

Ouch. I get the demo's downloaded usually anywhere from 20-40 minutes. Even the big ones. Im not sure why some people get such slow D/l Speeds

I heard Dead or Alive 4 demo is out

( lol someone must have read my thread about games from launchwindow not having demo's yet :lol )

Yup, it's like a kick in the balls when this thread gets bumped for old games. Everyone wants dead rising, saints row, etc.

Yeah I hear ya, but whatever i'll go kick some ass with it later on, I'm bored right now anyway.

Oh, I didn't mean it like "you suck for bumping the thread." I meant it like "Damn you Tecmo for putting out a demo of a game I played months ago." I'm really hoping to see Dead Rising on the Marketplace.

Oh I wasn't taking it that way :). I never even played the game so ill give it a try :)

Sure it would be better to have this earlier, but it's not like it's BAD to have it now. Demos like this and Fight Night are great when you have friends over and want to have a some multiplayer fun.

ha! i noticed that also, it's silly since it's just a demo, it should have been toned down in difficulty.

anyways I didn't really enjoy it, but then again I am not a big fan of fighters.

I AM a fan of fighters and I didn't enjoy it. Literally, I turn on the game, look at the modes, pick my character, hit punch button, my hand gets grabbed and I get flipped. Good start.

EDIT - congrats Tecmo, I've been on the fence about getting DOA4, but thanks to your demo and getting to see how your AI goes about, you've convinced me to steer clear of this game. Good work.

Is the whole game this hard? It seems like everything I do gets reversed or countered.
You must not be very good at fighting games. I rushed through time attack without losing a single round. The key is to pull a mix up game, that is not hammer the same move over and over, but look at your character's combo list, and make sure to hit high and low, fast and slow, throw and counter. Pretty basic 3D fighter stuff.

Haha, not good at fighting games my ass. If you have Anniversary Collection for Xbox, we'd play some third strike and show you how I am at fighters.

I don't think you read my post. The VERY FIRST punch I threw got countered. How can you mixup something when you haven't even started yet?

Throws seem pretty sucky in this game. Sometimes the replay clearly shows that he's just standing there, I'm right beside him go for the throw, and my hands just pass through him like its nothing. And its not hard to beat it on your first try if you get all the women, if you get the drunk guy or the ninja, they just love to counter into 30-40% damage combos.

I used to be pretty good at DoA2 and 3, but I too was getting manhandled by the CPU in the demo for DoA4.

I like it though, it means I have to learn how to play all over again. 100% transitive gameplay is archaic! I'll get this when it drops significantly in price.

This probably doesn't help the 'I don't suck at fighting games' statement from earlier, but I just played the time trial again, here are my results.

1. 26"17 (masked girl)
2. 29"55 (girl with no boobs)
3. 36'31"97 (drunken BASTARD)

Jesus Christ I was ready to whip my controller. I go high, counter. I go low, counter. I block, throw. I go high low, counter. I try to throw, magically goes through him and he kicks me. 90% of the matches were 3 rounds, half of those going to his last sliver of life before I suddenly couldn't touch him.

It's all about the vs online. When you're playing a human the game rocks. And as for the CPU, you don't so much mix up your attacks as you do your timing, that's the secret.

Ahh alright that seems to make sense. Thanks.

Updated list for Table Tennis, that makes 36 demos, holy!

I'm waiting for a good reason to plug my 360 back into my LAN. Damn 5 port router.

That honestly makes me feel sad for that guy. Get a life, dude.

XE: How is it that you are playing Japanese titles?
RANCE6: I know Japanese, and learned it only so I could play games, because I think that Japanese gamers are ESSENTIAL to a videogame player.

I think he posts on GAF.

Doesn't sound that bad to me. He owns a videogame store, and spends 10 to 15 hours a day playing videogames. There are people who put more time then that daily into individual games like WOW or Counterstrike for several years in a row.

That is pretty crazy. If you were buying a 360 today, you could spend a couple of months just downloading and playing 360 demos and arcade demos without having to buy a single game. Imagine in four years when there will be 200 demos and 200 arcade game demos. You could almost justify owning the system and not buying a single game.

Sure if you do not want multiplayer, online play, acheivements, and progression throughout epics like Oblivion and GRAW. Hopefully the PS3 has a similar setup in relation to demos being ready to download. I know after I drop 600 on PS3 this fall, I probably just getting one game for a couple of months.

I think it would be ridiculous to not buy a game, or to buy a system for demos. I'm just talking about the amount of content that will be available for the system without having to purchase anything. We are so used to buying these bare bones systems at launch where we are lucky to get a demo disk with movies. With the next gen online capabilities of PS3 and 360, we will be getting a lot more content from day one.

That's what I've been trying to say!!!! ;-)

Now, get good at it, and tell me how you can possibly live without rumble in that game.

I love how simple yet addicting it is... does this game have a lot of people to play online or do you have to sit and wait?

I've never had a time when I sat and waited for long. It's been damn near instantaneous. Obviously anecdotal - but I think there are plenty playing and I find it matches people up quickly.

Be sure to try it using both analog sticks if you have not already. It takes a bit of practice, but I find it to be a lot more fun.
