Xbox 360 Live demo availability thread

the 360 demo of Fifa 07 is damn awful, pc version much better. 360 version felt very sluggish and not responsive while the pc edition feels more like pc like pro evo, well they copied everything pro evo did with the style of passing through balls and shooting.

yeah sonic demo suks if you dont move right or left on the joystick, just hold forward throughout the demo and its much better.

it's pretty sad when you need to try and find a way to make the demo fun.

Not at all, I just took the time to learn the controls and mechanics of the game and wanted to tell people that if they didn't fully use the X button/ring dash technique they may want to give the demo another try. It makes a huge difference in how the game plays.

Yes the camera is still shit and the controls are loose. But the devs probably were not trying to aiming for a 3d mario adventure/platformer. Sonic has always been about speed. I would even go as far as saying if the rest of game is as solid as the first level, that I think it could be better in 3d. If only for the fact that that you can see whats ahead of you. With Sonic 2D once I started speeding through a level I always had the fear of being nailed by some monster or spikes that I wouldn't see coming.

Yeah I know I shouldn't bump this whitout a demo coming out, but yesterday Activision had an event here in Italy to show us their next games (COD3, THP8, MarvelUA), and their PR told us that before the end of the month they'll release demos of all three games. So I thought to share this with you :)

^ This was pretty much my opinion until I put some time into the demo. I couldn't understand how the controls could be SO bad. But then I stopped trying to roam around and just concentrated on going forward and speeding through the level, big difference. It seems to me it less about moving the stick then it is about hitting the right buttons. Of course the homing attack is key but so is using the X button to speed through a line of rings which just makes the game so much easier to control. When I did it right I got the ol' sonic 2d rush of speeding through the level. For instance at one point there was a line of rings followed by a group of robots. At first I was running through the rings, jumping and homing to kill the robots which would slo me down. But when I hit X before the rings I would zip through them and use the slide attack through the bots without skipping a beat. Shit I think I actually gained speed =)

Also, the amount of freedom the level gives you considering the speed is amazing. I must have played through it 20 times and never went the exact same route.

Don't write this demo off so quick!

ugh.. I actually played it 5-6 times through waiting for other downloads.

and no.. just no

It IS absolutely worthless, no mather how you try to twist it.

:lol No way to argue opinions, there is too much wrong with the analog control to even try. But I have had a good time trying to get an S rank in the demo level. Its almost like golf in that it is incredibly frustrating most of the time but when you get everything right its very rewarding. I may even pick it up, now. Just two things

Fix the over sensitive control

THINGS THAT FALL IN WATER SHOULD SPLASH!!! WTF SEGA

Tony Hawk's Project 8 Demo To Debut On Xbox Live Marketplace October 20

Santa Monica, CA – October 19, 2006 – The competition to become a member of Tony Hawk’s elite skate team starts on your Xbox 360™ with the free Tony Hawk’s Project 8 demo available on Xbox Live® Marketplace Oct. 20.

Gamers can download the demo and hit the Concrete Park where they will experience some of the latest innovations in the #1 best selling action sports franchise from Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), including “Nail the Trick,” which gives players precision control over how their skater moves their feet to flip the skateboard; “Filmer” goals that require players to follow a cameraman and complete tricks that he calls out; and “Spot Challenges” which are ambient goals that players can access throughout the game world and complete as they choose.

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 is being developed by Neversoft Entertainment for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment systems from Microsoft. The game is rated 12+ BBFC and is scheduled for release in November.

I'm not a fan of the Tony Hawk games. I like playing it for like one hour, and then it gets boring. But I've played Tony Hawk Project 8... wow, that shit looks amazing. The character models look really good, the environements look nice too, if you go high enough with your board and go trough a tree the leaves really fall off. It's nice. The new "trick mode" in slow-mo is cool too, I found it difficult, but maybe it's because I suck at skate games. One nice thing is that when you fall, there's actually blood and you can even break your bones the chick said (I didn't fall hard enough to try that out though) :lol

But besides that, I enjoyed Tony Hawk Down Hill Jam more, it's less serious, but much more fun.

I won't be downloading the demo though, I was serious when I said that after one hour I'm sick of those games, Tony Hawk Project 8 doesn't change that.

This is exactly what another guy told me. I've never been a fan of the series, but I'll give the demo a try.

Excellent EXCELLENT news!

It was already announced, but to hear that it's already coming out TOMORROW? Hell yeah!

I was already looking forward to this game, but damn, we get to play it already tomorrow!

Why is the "Gears of War" demo sign in the Microsoft points banner?
F*** MS, if the demo is not for free.

Welcome to 1836.

That banner is the default for all marketplace areas. GOW demo may not even happen, but Mark Rein said if it does, they aren't charging for it. IIRC.

i'm mad excited about this one... the series has gotten progressively worse after part 3, so i'm hoping that project 8 will be the one to pull it back from its grave.

so, over the course of the next several days we have tony hawk, splinter cell single player, and rainbow. fingA. awesome.
