Xbox 360 Live demo availability thread

How do you go about making a European account? It defaults to United States on mine, and I am unable to change it.

First off you should go to the passport site : http://www.passport.com/. Make sure you are not logged in, and click on the "create hotmail account" link. Now, here is the important part, the site will ask you where you are from, select either Japan, the US, or Europe. Remember, this is the country where the demo is available, not where you really live! You will require some information regarding those countries so Microsoft will allow you ro register the e-mail address.

Here is the info we used:

United States
Postal Code: 10012
State: New York, City New York City
Phone Number: 1-866-530-1234

Japan
Postal Code: 150-2345
Province: Tokyo-to
Phone Number: 3201-3331

Europe/Germany
Postal Code: 54292
City: Trier
Phone Number: 065112345

You can use any valid address and phone number from the country where the demo is available.

Once you have filled out the info and applied for the Hotmail account, activate it and turn on your Xbox360. Press the guide button and choose "switch profile" (X Button). Now create a new profile, and a new Xbox Live Account, make it a Silver account instead of a Gold and assign it to the hotmail account you just made. Finish the setup and login your new account. Go to the marketplace to download the content you want. It should be noted, just because you downloaded the content, doesn't mean that it will be playable. Some demo's may be region locked to the specific region it was designed for.

GO!

R6:V was hiding in the Japanese Marketplace under Demos by Genre -> Shooters here. 477.57MB.

To quote Scotch whose quote actually also applies to the japanese demo query

Look in the All Demos or Genre folders (and if it's not there, try again). I had the same thing but after trying a couple of times it was suddenly there

i wonder what the reasoning is behind not having the R6 demo available to North America? oh wells, guess i'll have to jump on this with my JP account.

FFS its still not up, why do I pay for this shit >_<

Because there isn't another solid option until Nov 17th? :)

I'm pissed, too. Being forced to jump through hoops and voilate the Live TOS to get this demo, just so OXM can have an exclusive, is absurd.

Just finished the demo, it's really fun. Unsurprisingly it reminds me a lot of GRAW, but with some nice new touches, like the improved cover system and blind fire. Zooming in and shooting a guy in the head feels pretty sweet as well.

I do notice the occasional slowdown though.

Is this the first title that's shipped on Unreal 3?

The environments in this game are just plain silly......seriously, they are so goddamn sick. Totally seamless too. This engine seems a little bit better at doing indoor stuff than the YETI engine they used in GRAW.

Except the region locked demos.
That goes without saying, but region locked demos can't be played on a system that isn't from that region to begin with. Regardless of which profile you use...

I'm trying to make a Japan account and it's making me use the free month for Gold? Can't I just make it Silver?

You just get one month of free gold, what's wrong with that? Happens everytime you create a new gamertag :)

I followed the tutorial on the previous page and the free Gold is asking for a City and Address. Now what.

And now all the text is in Japanese :lol
