Yeah I don't want to get into the frontline here as I don't constantly watch who is biased about what but it is noticeable that the amount of Uncharted and KZ2 pics and mentioning (even when its totally unrelated) is far bigger than I have ever seen for the 360 "counterparts"...just wait for February though. Then the real fun should start ;)

I am also anticipating kz2 and will get it day 1 btw

Banjo doesn't even get mentioned that much in terms of graphics, ever. And I find that one to be as impressive as gears 2.

I 100% agree, I can't wait till Rare comes out with a non-cartoony game so people will actually recognize what they've been accomplishing.
 
If texture pop in isn't a problem with the PS3 version of ME, they probably should've waited for both versions to load properly.

These ones have a bit more detail in distant building textures to the left on PS3, but a little more aliasing and a few missing shadows in the foreground.

As you can see from the video, there's barely anything to tell these games apart. They're both equally excellent to look at, and the overall gameplay experience is virtually identical.

Nah, you could ease up and respect fans of these games though. If you don't like it then stay out. Crysis is not a fair barometer for consoles so that's why it's unfair to bring it up in a mainly console oriented discussion. Uncharted and KZ2 are brought up (often times unnecessarily) to show that PS3 can render some unbelievable scenery when threads like this show some inferiority within 3rd party efforts.

But neither of those games are 3rd party efforts and the entire point of the thread is to compare third party games. Posting anything about first party titles are completely off topic.

Wtf where did anyone ever say anything like that? Any time anyone anywhere even mentions graphics on these forums within 10 posts there's a SS from Uncharted or KZ2. Meanwhile despite Gears 2/Banjo/Gears 1 all being the best games graphically for their time you don't see the same thing happening..... I'm sorry but no1 wants to see 5 pages of Uncharted Screenshots in every thread. It feels like anytime anyone mentions good graphics on anything but the Ps3 some sony fan needs to come running in going "OH LOOK ME2 ME2 I CAN HAVE GOOD GRAPHICS TOO"

How bout the screen shots come from the fact that when someone says that uncharted or killzone2 look good you get 20 asshats that put them down or say better could be done on 360...

The fact that ps3 and 360 can do great gfx is a given, but when someone actually gets proud of the choice they made because of the quality of the games released some fuckwad hater has to put them down. Stop the hate and the screen shots will disappear.....

PROUD of the CHOICE they have made is 99% of the problem.

Until everyone is able to have both consoles, it'll never EVER stop.
Until then it's going to be people who had to chose between one of the two available consoles finding more and more justification on their choice then pushing that on other people.

yeah, between the demos i saw no differences beyond aliasing and slight differences in colour schemes. lol - it would be funny if it turned out the Eurogamer PS3 is borked!

Gears 2 is going to do Halo 2 like numbers...... Resistance can't possibly hope to get even close to matching it, Fable 1 did 3 million + despite the hype for the game on these forums LBP isn't going...

I remember back in the day when it was gamers against everyone else. Now its all about whos team you are on, and you are not cool with a certain crowd unless you play gory fps all the time. Or you are not cool with another crowd unless you play Jrpgs all the time.

A lot of stupid BS came with the mass market.

Why should people buy 2 consoles though, especially in an age where there are hardly any exclusive games left......

the difference being pointed out is that MS fans are't going into a ton of thread posting picture upon picture of Gears 2, where as the other way round we do get KZ2 pics.

this is the point where some should step into say "why would anyone post pics of Gears 2 ? it looks like crap!"

I think people post images of both Uncharted and KZ2 because the how technically advanced the render engines are in comparison to UE3.

I would like to see EA move from UE3 in favor of the engine used in Dead Space. This way the UE3 pissing contests would end, and we would have a better render engine than UE3 for future games.

the best thing is relative. the differences between ps3 and 360 games are a fraction of what they were between the psx saturn and n64, ps2 , gc and xbox.

its pretty much fanboy fodder. you are not missing out on anything buying a game on either console. unless one has more content.
 
Same shit, every month. Richard Leadbetter is a cunt who uses selective examples to make it appear that these games look wayyyy better on the 360 when in fact the differences are marginal at best, at worst the game looks marginally better on the PS3. Whateverthefuckever.

The difference is that MS fans all go into the threads where the screen shots are likely to be, and then start bagging on the games...... being to busy to actually post screen shots themselves.

Dude, it is all just a big circle of "mines better then yours" and it hasn't changed since Atari vs Intellivision, some hate and some defend. I guess that's the way it will always be.

oh i agree, but i think the point is that it's all down to justification of a choice. If people were totally honest with themselves, they'd want what the other side has that they don't.

It's human nature, the grass is ALWAYS greener and the only way to convince yourself other wise is to hate. And that's manifest here on GAF by the bucket load.

360 & PS3 owners get to enjoy the most of the same stuff excluding the odd exclusive its almost a similar experience.

It makes me sad that great multiplatform games get overlooked for average overhyped exclusives.

I am hating this tread of shouting which platform people are getting a game for or comparing games or posting comparisons, I HATE comparison threads with a passion.

I mean most of the time any differences are very minor.

I'm gonna be brutal honest here as I see it it really is the Sony only fans that seem to be the insecure ones, going out of their way to sway threads, troll other systems and leap to posting screenshots or finding any old argument to bitch about why there purchase is the right choice for them while it seems much harder to find the same 360 only guys.

Guys you have a decent system just play the games, why is anyone worried x game looks a little bit worse on either system, play on what you prefer for your own reasons and don't force them down everyones throat.

Even the worst versions of the games still look great, if there wasn't a version that looked a tiny bit different no body would care, I really don't get why these comparisons still happen the argument has been beaten to death.

And if its just visuals then why do people ignore the PC (tho the recent Left4Dead if its not on PC then its dogshit statements I've heard have pissed me off also)

Apparently the textures take longer to load in on PS3. There are plenty of other comparison screens; it doesn't always look like that.

It's not only Sony fans, and this post doesn't help just because it's one sided...

I've read many a thread on these forums way before I ever joined, and most consisted of:

"I can't wait for such and such to come out on PS3, it's going to be killer."
"Yea yea, You say that about every PS3 game, and they all turn out just like such and such, which was garbage."
"No, Random programmer never makes a bad game."
"Dude, if you think that will in any way be better then Gears your crazy."
"Never said it would be better, just that it probably will be great."
"Gears sold how many million, that will be lucky to sell 5 copies because of the small PS3base."

It's always the same shit, both sides are guilty. Fact is, I see it more with 360 fans, it might be vengeance for how ps2 fans were, I have no idea......but it has to stop somewhere.

my ps3 version of Mirror's Edge must be weird because they get this

Forgetting that theirs is a digital capture and mine is analog... I notice a couple of differences to say the least
 
Yeah, those Eurogamer shots reek.

I mean, we know by now that the 360 is better for multiplatform games, but the difference isn't that huge. Last time I've seen differences like that were Ubi's 2007 games, Splinter Cell et. al.

Unprofessional at best, biased at worst when they chose these shots.


Also, I'm trying hard not to post the Physx .gifs from Mirror's Edge PC. Don't want to make this discussion more heated as it is already. :lol
