It's a legacy franchise. The New Order and The New Colossus were both really good games. Youngblood and Cyberpilot... not so much. I don't really know why they don't sell, though. It's a shame.

Why?

Kojima is independent and can work with whoever he wants. If he's in talks with Xbox then he has presumably also talked to PlayStation who may have passed on this opportunity or, indeed, are working with him on a different one.

The episodic thing he was going to do for Stadia sounds a real possibility here.

I think that they have moneyhatted some day one gamepass releases to tie them over for another year. I don't see their 1st party ramp up for at least another year.. Maybe holiday 22 will see the floodgates beginning to open.

I could be wrong.

Oh Kojima game. Lol I just don't get the hype that surrounds that guy and will never be excited for his stuff.

I think its a pretty safe bet they will do that, but I wouldnt expect an announcement this year. GTA5 next gen will be their focus until Nov I imagine?
 
Kojima game is gonna be interesting, I love his work and DS was a real surprise for me I thought I would hate it but it was in my top 3 for that year.
 
I'm struggling to be excited for Wolfenstein after playing Wokeblood, even if that was a smaller side project to appease a certain crowd.

An RPG from IOI sounds very interesting.

Avowed, Starfield and whatever alleged kojima game are the only things that interest me from that list. Everything else I don't really give a shit about.

Frfr though if that's the full list I'm happy because it means Starfield could see a solid 20 mins which means we're <1year out. A short trailer means next fall IMO.

It's clear to see that was coming by people who didn't play the game.
Ofc kojima has more fans on sony since history, too.

You'd loose all respect for a man who needs to partner with publishers to get his ideas funded because he took a deal with MS who is one of only a handful of publishers that could actually fund his games? That is some lame ass fanboy bullshit.

Kojima is half dead to me because the gameplay in Death Stranding was awful, but I loved MGS so I am curious.

Bullshit. I played the game for 4 chapters and couldn't take it anymore. Trudging through the landscape to the next outpost was unfun. Reshuffling your cargo via a shitty menu was unfun. I was kind of liking the weird story, but it felt like a fucking chore to get to the next cutscene. It wasn't no gameplay, it was awful gameplay. Balance while you walk? That is some stupid unfun QTE shit.

I had the opinion that those who enjoyed it, either did so because of the story/Kojima or because they liked the rebuilding aspect and those who hated it, just wanted a fun action and or stealth game and were disappointed by a tedious gameplay loop.
 
I didn't play Death Stranding myself but one of my best friends did and even though he loves Kojima's work and he really liked the story he said the same thing I've heard a lot of people say. If you cut out the ridiculous amount of traversal through barren landscape it would have been a much a better game. But for some reason Kojima thought that much of the game would be a good idea.

edit: I may sound dismissive but think about how many studios they have acquired in the last few years. I'm not saying they have to release everything at the same time, but they should have shit loads to show by now. If not, what have they been doing?

Can't just fob it off and say "oh pandemic" because Playstation has been in the same pandemic and managed it. Ratchet & Clank will be out soon and Horizon FW is probably coming late this year/early next year (if they're at the point that they can show a decent chunk of gameplay) (Most of Playstation's big studios are in America or other counties where the pandemic has hit hard, so let's not be lazy and say "oh but Japanese company!")

i don't know how much you know about Japanese culture (im an expert) but honor and shame are huge parts of it. kojima, cancel your xbox exclusive or kiss your business goodbye!

Depends if that Project Dragon and Kojima games are exclusive.

Avowed should be good and the Vampire game sounds like it would be great, suits Arkane alot.

Not interested in Wolfienstein 3 as 2 was a dump and the first was just about ok. I got bored
Halo Ill wait, love the series but havent been great in recent years
 
I'm gonna guess we'll see 10 to 15 minutes of Starfield. It's probably the biggest game Xbox will have any time soon as far as expectations are concerned. We're not likely to see this level of anticipation again for one of their games until Playground shows us what they've done with Fable. So I'm betting Microsoft will make a fairly large show of it during their presentation.
 
If Kojima's next game isn't on PlayStation it's because PlayStation told him they didn't want it.....no reason to shit on the guy for that.
 
Strong list if it's real. This plus indies and gamepass announcements, as long as its showing gameplay and not cg stuff then it will be a big show.
 
Want to see more Halo. A Kojima game in development almost seems a certainty at this point.

Wonder how big it will be and why other publishers turned him down (reportedly) bet it's crazy as hell.

I'll lose all respect for Sony for allowing it to happen. Will also buy an Xbox if they have a Kojima exclusive as it's the one thing they could have done to make me interested.
 
That's one hell of a list. Would be an awesome show.
That would instantly make me buy a Series X - it was only a matter of time really.
