How does hardware continue to go down by such a high percentage? Welfare Welfare said Xbox was holding better than he thought just a few days ago 🤔

Post in thread 'Circana March 2026: #1 MLB The Show, #3 WWE, #4 Marathon #5 Pokopia ; Switch 2 #1 March and YTD (+12% vs Switch 1 10 Month LTD, 2nd fastest console)' https://www.neogaf.com/threads/circ...td-2nd-fastest-console.1696060/post-271501361

I finally made one of O onQ123 post! :messenger_tears_of_joy: His response to me is even more confusing now with this data.

Hardware sales keep going down and down.
At this rate, soon enough, the only way to go further down is if people start leaving their Xboxes at Sharma's doorstep.

MS would have to buy Xbox from people for it to get any worse.

DAMN

Xbox is as dead as Sony's Games as a Service Initiative.

That's dead as fuck.

I want to see how this gets spun. Tell us all how Asha inheritted a complete fucking train wreck but how Phil did an amazing job before she got hired..... somehow..?

Jez, entertain us like the clown you are.

At least Sony has Helldivers 2 that was an unquestionable success. Xbox doesn't even have that anymore. Have Gamepass subscriptions went up yet?

How many Xboxes are they even selling at this point? Hardware revenue is down 30% every time, but what does that actually translate to? (no doubt the numbers are so horrific they'd rather keep that info obscure).

This last quarter they sold 100,000 Xbox Series consoles per month......WorldWide! Even in Japan alone.....Sony sells 40,000 PS5s per month. I don't see how Asha can do this.

But, but, but, I thought MS "bangers" like South of Midnight was supposed to grow GP? Could it be that renting games doesn't bring in the same revenue stream like I don't know, actually BUYING the games?
Oh My God Reaction GIF

Are these folks saying Revenue is down? Holy shit, even before profits?

What are the Xbox devision profits?

But what does reality matter?

What's important is that the Xbox idiots took pictures to spout nonsense on Twitter, saying "that's how you share your games," with a picture of an Xbox Series S in the background.

If you read the forums in 2022/2023, the prevailing idea was that Xbox was going to buy most of the major publishers to save the industry from the evil Sony.

With the PoorPass to save players from having to buy games for $79.99, and a number of exclusive titles thanks to ZeniMax/Activision.

4 years of 30% down year on year.

3/4 quarters already of revenues down in the until now called MS Gaming department, including Zenimax and ABK.

Asha seems less idiotic than Philnoccio Spencer, but don't see her turning this around.

I really wonder why Microsoft wants to hold on to Xbox. They could drop the brand and not notice it missing
Actually they would.

Its like someone fixing a dripping pipe, and then noticing that their water pressure is slightly better in the shower. Its not much, but its something.

So far all she's done: GPT-style empty manifest, new glass filter on an old logo and internal Exchange email domain change to @xbox.com (The latter will be probably used for soon to be sent layoff letters.).

The only substantual change was CoD GP day one removal and 'lowering' the price on two GP tiers (that will result in even lower results in Q4 per guidance), and even then GP is still substantially more expensive than it was before CoD.

Like last quarter, these figures have a lot to do with the COD 2025 debacle. If it had only generated revenue like COD 2024, it would surely be in the - or, possible "Up"

Then there's the hardware, and here the figures are entirely predictable when you were selling for €100/$ more than the competition and don't have a single console available in stores (not even the official store) in 90% of the world's countries, except the USA and UK.

Microsoft has definitely considered the Xbox Series hardware finished/amortized, and all its hardware efforts are now focused on Helix. We'll see to what extent that effort is made.
