Why though? The S only has half the memory chips of the X as well as a half sized APU and half sized SSD. It also runs off a 128-bit bus against the 320-bit bus in the X.Xss is at a $300. That is already a loss at the price point.
If it was $400, maybe.
Because xss parts cost more than $300. It isnt a switch with dock station. Why though? The S only has half the memory chips of the X as well as a half sized APU and half sized SSD. It also runs off a 128-bit bus against the 320-bit bus in the X.
A single chip of GDDR6 costs something like $25 at wholesale prices. MS obviously gets a better deal than that but even at $15 then that's a cost difference of $75 for the memory alone.
It also doesn't include a display.Because xss parts cost more than $300. It isnt a switch with dock station.
Even the ps5 digital at $400 is sold at a loss for Sony. While their disc version is finally not making any loss for them.
The chip on xsx can be used to make xss.1 for every 2 or 3 sold does not equal 55%.
The price entry is far cheaper than the total cost.It also doesn't include a display.
I don't really have any strong opinions on this though. I'd just be surprised if it was sold at a loss.
Is it? I thought XSS is like half the size and clocked differently. The chip on xsx can be used to make xss.
SlimySnake knows about it.
They call it something. We had a discussion about that here.
We had that discussion around early or last years, if my memory is correct. Is it? I thought XSS is like half the size and clocked differently.

The xss was taking less . MS were somewhat making more xss that way, despite Sony having more wafers.
I can't find that thread sadly.
This is a two birds one stone situation. Huddle around them and modern consoles can fix both problems.Europe has bigger concerns than Xbox this winter - like not freezing to death
Getting Xbox in France is relatively easy, they pop up frequently on Fnac and Amazon. I got it twice and sold it both times.2024 - The Xbox Series X will still be in short supply for Christmas, admits Microsoft France
According to the director of Xbox France, there are not enough consoles in circulation to meet demand, and the shortage will not be reduced immediately.gettotext.com
Looks like even with stockpiling the Xbox Series X (not S) won't have enough product to meet demand worldwide this holiday season based on Xbox's projections. I assume the same is true for Sony based on their recent lower than expected production.
It looks like at the earliest mid 2023 may start to see real improvement, but it could be as late as fall next year if things don't trend upward by then.
Microsoft is still selling almost every Xbox Series X (not S) they can make. Especially in retail stores, people who are looking at online retailers better get theirs quick before the holiday rush starting next week.
That surely helps in the grand scheme.I was at Target today (NY). They had 1 Series X, 2 Series S consoles, 4 Series X all access.
They also had about 4 Switch regular consoles, 2 OLED Switches, and a bunch of Switch lites.
They had 0 PS5 consoles.
Just thought id share.
Why did you sell it both times?Getting Xbox in France is relatively easy, they pop up frequently on Fnac and Amazon. I got it twice and sold it both times.
Getting a PS5 is impossible.
No time to play, my habits changed and if I have free time I prefer piano or books now.Why did you sell it both times?
Xbox Series Consoles are in Stock here in Germany everywhere…smh 2 years and we're still not at a point where one can walk in a store and reliably be able to buy a new-gen console.
the chip shortage and covid related shake ups and its effect is still being felt very strongly.

It makes sense, especially on MS’s side not to over spend trying to boost units even more overseas where currency issues would cause them to widen the loss they already make on units as they did not readjust the console prices.2024 - The Xbox Series X will still be in short supply for Christmas, admits Microsoft France

It could be that the supply of an item they are already losing money on in countries where currency exchange rate changes would make the loss deeper is being limited.Jimbo stole all the chips?
You don't know Jimbo man. The depths he will go to hurt phil.It could be that the supply of an item they are already losing money on in countries where currency exchange rate changes would make the loss deeper is being limited.

Not gonna work, you need at least a 3080 for that. This is a two birds one stone situation. Huddle around them and modern consoles can fix both problems.
Surely you don't think Bethesda games are the more polished, the sooner they get released...It's nice of you to think this means more polish, less bugs.
