Still trying to beat Jeff in Half Life Alxy, Might get Lego Brick Tales, but first need to finish Asgards Wrath 1 and 2 and Assasins Creed Nexus, and Arizona Sunshine 1 and 2.
My Quest 3 getting more work than my Switch this year.

Xbox Cloud Streaming on a VR headset sounds like the worst experience possible. Is it somehow good?

On the surface, maybe it is. But really when your watching a virtual screen on these your looking at about 1080p anyhow. And maybe you can pick the screen size? A lot may depend on your internet connection quality.

Been doing sorta this for awhile using virtual desktop on PC. The weird thing you have to remember is that you need to make the screen as big as you can handle - as the bigger the screen gets the higher its resolution.
Edit: also hopefully it allows curved screens.

But it's an inconsistent 60fps at 1080p with a low bitrate right up to your face. That sounds awful.

You are sitting playing Xbox games on a massive screen. Yes it's good..

How? You've got latency on top of latency and compression on top of compression.

If you're desperate to do this you'd be better off streaming directly from a PC, even a mid-range one.

How is it any more latency or compression than using a phone?

Not that I tried it yet or even use it normally. You are right about using VD but I'm not going to just bash Game Pass without trying it, especially as I have a new found appreciation to streaming flat screen games to the Quest 3 through VD in passthrough. I should give Game Pass a whirl.

I'm talking about in comparison to streaming from a device in your own home.

You'd be far better off streaming gamepass via VD than from their cloud servers.

Of course but that's missing the point.

Interesting. I could see this being pretty awesome if your internet connection is good.
I'm visiting family in Cali and saw the app pop up last night. It was legit great over a 5g UW connection. Didn't play long, but I checked out Starfield and this Downhill bike game. Held up visually, and no detectable difference in latency compared to using my phone, just a hell of a lot bigger screen. Not sure if it supports any surround sound codecs, but if it doesn't it sure fooled me. I can at least say the stereo sound was great while in the headset.

It's no different to streaming on anything else. It's just the 2D large theater screen I'm guessing. I don't see myself using it much but it's a neat option.
You can play in passthrough which was a feature I hoped it would have. If not in pass through, you are in a Xbox branded room which was kind of barren and lame.

I guess I'm turning on my Quest 2 this weekend.

So what do I do, connect my controller to the headset via Bluetooth?

Yep. Oddly, I didn't have to even sign in. Maybe it pulled my saved information from the web browser. I pulled up the xcloud website previously to see if it worked.
