The only thing I was expecting from this was a release date and they couldn't even manage that. Oh well, didn't think they were ready to show anything new coming into this except the previously rumored Fable and possibly Crackdown. And probbly the leaked indie news definitely put a damper for them. Is FIFA really considered a megaton? Sony will easily "win" this conference. All they have to do is show up and stand there at this point.

Does Microsoft have anything else planned for Gamescom? It seems like Phil Spencer was hinting at Crackdown 3 pretty heavily recently.
For those asking about AUS/NZ for FIFA 14, EB Games Twitter feed, which has been following the conference, skipped this piece of news. So I'd say it's not on, but we'd have to wait until tomorrow. My thinking is that this is the free game for 'Tier 2' Europe as well, and they are just trying to make sure it sells out at the 'second' launch of the console.

Well i guess the FIFA thing is good news, but i can't see how it bridges the gap price wise when it's still more expensive.

Stop pointing out the obvious, it's much easier just to give Xbox One shit. It seems like a smart move but if they were scared that they wouldn't sell out of X1s at launch without it then that's a huge issue, especially given this offer's only being offered on pre-orders.
On another note will digital games be playable offline once they're downloaded? If so I don't see how it being digital is an issue given if you can afford a next gen machine at launch you're going to have internet.

Was it ever confirmed that the day 1 patch was for DRM? It could be like the Wii U where it adds features that were being worked on after production of consoles started. Wii U's day 1 "patch" was something like a GB and it wasn't yanking drm out.

I think it's also a reaction to their pricing, they're effectively lowering the price of the Xbox One without actually lowering the price. So they saved themselves another 180 on the price.
