If someone missed this last gen somehow, I can understand them wanting an Xbox to play a lot of the games but this seems pretty silly.

$200 and size wise it doesnt appear that small either. And to think people were throwing around Apple TV, even Mac mini sizes haha
I think I'll keep my slim, looks better imo. Although new one doesn't look bad

Pretty much. I'd pay no more than $149 for a last gen console.
I don't see what the point of this hardware revision is. The drastic speculated remodel super tiny, Apple TV competitor, no disc drive, 'Stingray' made some sense. This?
All this is doing is bringing back attention to the fact that an 8-year old console is somehow still being tagged at $199 (for 4gb?! lol!) or $299 when coupled with the industry's most reviled peripheral.
It's like they fired all their PR/Marketing folks, burned their Comm/Strategy plans, and charged headlong into this Spring with nothing but raw gusto. It's turned out so well.

PS3 has an excuse, the Cell is still a massive pain in the ass to manufacture. It isn't a good one, and one of the many reasons Sony jumped ship to simpler architecture, but at least it has one.

meh... I will probably get one as I am about to trade in my POS launch 20GB for money down on a PS4.. But I really was hoping for a mac mini sized device.. This is just.. "really?"

Redesign means less expensive to produce. It's important from a cost-saving and all that.
Oh its definitely better than that eyesore PS3 thats on store shelves right now. The price is the only issue I have, it should have been $150 tops.

Rather get the 360 4G, least its all matte finish. I still don't get the glossy/matte thing.

I'll be watching the price closely on this thing... can't bite for anything higher than $200 for 250 gb.
My once RROD'd original 360 won't hold out forever... but I hope it holds out long enough for that price to go down.

I'd be surprised if they were still having poor yields after nearly 4 years of manufacturing experience on 45nm.
