It's as simple as asking the guy a question.

Brad Sams is a Microsoft Insider that gets some cool scoops and has a pretty good track record. Today he was using his insider knowledge to talk about possible price ranges for the upcoming 2 next generation Xbox consoles that will be unveiled at E3.
But more importantly, a lot of heads were shook in succession when he had confirmed via sources that 50 million Xbox Ones had been sold. This goes against many predictions and the rumored shipment of 41 million. It turns out based on current data it is more likely the Xbox One was around 43-45 million during those rumors, and the Xbox One shipped between 5-7 million from December until present.
These numbers show that the Xbox One can benefit from a price drop, developers have given me enough hints that it's likely the next generation of Xbox hardware may come out in 2019. Which I expect the Xbox One to get that price cut.
By the time of its discontinuation, and the current sales rate, I expect a 70 million Lifetime total to the Xbox One. Still not near the 360, but a pretty good run even if they are in second place.
It really shows the massive turn around the Xbox One had despite all odds, gaining good will with new features, BC, Xbox One X, and top exclusives all at an affordable price, and now a new optional discless alternative. From DRM and Don Mattrick telling you to buy a 360, to it reaching the 50 million most people said it wouldn't reach. This is what you call a real underdog story.
