It's funny how many people get bent out of shape by these kinds of things. This is 100% marketing and PR stuff ALL big companies do. I traded in my Xbox One and bought an Xbox One S a few weeks ago and I love it, plus I also got the Witcher 3 GotY and Fallout 4 free with my purchase. I already traded in my PS4 and I am eagerly awaiting my PS4 Pro which I'm sure I will also love. Sony has made some poor decisions lately and I do not blame MS at all for kicking Sony a bit while they are down. God knows Sony has done it to MS enough. Competition is good for us all...

I keep saying it, Sony completely disregarding 4K Player was a big misstep. I know way too many that were literally waiting for PRO just for the player!

Well I only got it 3 weeks ago. And I'm not going to rebuy games just to do a comparison. But what I have played exclusively on Xbox looks fucking fantastic. Mind pointing me to a title that exposes this gaping power disparity? The only game where I'm sort of taken aback by its ugliness is Titanfall. Idk what's going on with that game.

Its already been proven Amazon is not a good indicator on which console is selling better. PS4 always is on top of Xbox but Xbox still wins for the month.

Amazon US monthly has been wrong a total of three times this this generation, so it's got a pretty good prediction track record.

That being said, yes, it might be wrong again for October. We'll see.

People were mad at Kinect integration, they drop it.
People bemoaned the size, they reduce it.
People hated the design, they improved it.
People complained about the controller, they revised it 2x.

To make no mention of the hdr, backward compatibility, "play anywhere" or 4K stuff. I'm not sure what else MS can do to win GAF over.

I'm saying this as a PS4 owner from launch, haven't yet bought a current-gen Xbox. I've been down on Xbox One ever since before E3 2013, up *unti* E3 2016 where Xbox One S and Scorpio were announced. I want Xbox One S and PS4 Pro (and next year, Scorpio!)

Love the console wars.

Every single time Amazon was wrong there has been context to it.

Amazon looked awfully close last month, and you then have to factor in the Halo XB1S SKu which sold out afaik, and the extra special offers which some other retailers provided.

It doesn't look like it's going to be even close so far, and I do not know of any particular "significant" retail offsets.

So is it "possible" that XB1S takes October? Sure.

Does it look like it? No. Nor does it "look like" it will win November considering the Pro and its pre orders, if as expected both consoles have similar BF offerings @ $249.

And as I said, the marketing message, if opportunistic, framed in time and hypocritical (regarding past comments), is smart.

I would be less annoyed if they said something like -

Xbox One S - America's Hottest Console
