LMAO

Still, just goes to show you how much Sony dropped the ball with the mixed messengering PSVR and PS4Pro.

Why in gods name would anyone buy a PS4 or slim with the Pro coming out? If they're more concerned with price, why not wait for holiday bundles and deals?

Sony committed an unforced error and muddied their own messaging.

Then again, Microsoft has Scorpio on the horizon. They have their own Faceplant to worry about. Soon.

Again, salty about what exactly?

I am opposed to deceptive marketing practices, regardless of who is using them.

Besides it not being deceptive at all. All of this fanboy rage over a youtube title/description. It's not even in the ad itself... I'd make a factual comment about what is happening here, but I'd rather not get banned again.

Also, this is PR. Every company does this. MS, Sony, Google, Apple and [insert every company you can think of here]. You guys really need to take a deep breathe and leave this shit for children that don't know any better.

Just say you don't like marketing, because it's not deceptive at all.

You must go nutso when a movie advertises it's number 1 movie in america. It's a youtube title man, get over yourself.

Weird to see so much fanboyism in this thread about 2 boxes that pretty much do the same things and share 90% of the same games.

Wow at the overreaction of this Ad. It's marketing. This is what companies do. Look at Movie Ads.... The number one NEW comedy of the week. Networks do the same thing. It's about making claims that benefit your product.
They did a good job. You may not like the product, but getting upset over an ad is pretty ridiculous.

In general, console fanboyism is an odd character trait. These corporations only care about making money, not the love and support from Joe Doe.

Dat spin.

What happens if they lose November and December? It's not looking too good for them on Amazon right now. It looks like a lot of people are holding out for PS4 Pro from the look of things.

People upset about this need to pay more attention to marketing. Everyone does this.

Check out movie posters that grab a buzzword from an otherwise negative review and throw it on their poster as a compliment.

It's just marketing. And Microsoft is really good at it.

Yeah baby....Sony leading slightly on all score cards going into round 7 of the 12 scheduled rounds. Then M$ lands a huge right with the S staggering Sony back into the ropes... Its on like donkey Kong...the battle for the american dollar!

Great advertising..... Stuff like this bothers me less than multiplatform game ads ending with just one platform's stamp. That seems more deceptive to me.

Can anyone please post the Amazon rankings for this month? I'm too busy at work and this just doesn't sound right.

I wonder what % of monthly unit sales are credited to Amazon in the U.S. ? When compared to stores like Walmart, target, GameStop, etc, etc. Would be kind of cool to know that.

It's pretty simple. If they lose Nov and Dec then they don't make any ads about the bad news. They wait until they have something positive to talk about, and then they talk about it.

Why is fanboyism so often the counter argument?

As a Vita/Wii U owner, I couldn't care less about the Xbox selling better than the PS4 for the past few months.

Now, I can't speak for everyone in this thread but for me, my disapproval stems from deceptive marketing practices.

Who said lie? 3 months Compared to the last 2 and a half years. It's PR fluff Why are people so bothered by that being called out? I actually find it extremely funny.

It's not hard to understand why a company would not boast about tough times against the competition.

It was around a million before X1 started winning these last few months.

Probably 700-800k maybe? I haven't paid attention to the margins it's been leading by
Before I stopped keeping track, the gap was ~1.6M back in April of this year. So maybe it is closer to a ~1.4M gap now? Welfare or Ryng may know. Thanks either way.

The most amazing part about all the fanboys getting riled up int his thread is that the video itself doesn't even mention sales.

Only the title of the video does.

I don't understand why people are getting bent out of shape. They finally had a good run and sold more consoles for a while, of course they're going to brag.

It's not like they're going to be able to do this kinda stuff next month anyways, I'd reckon. Edit: actually, I guess all they'd have to do is change the title, since everything else would still be correct in the actual ad, right?
Pack it up...nothing can beat this level of stupid

lol (Princess Bride holds up better than Shrek)
Wait til I get going!

Very simple answer. But some people want the following answer instead: "It's pretty simple. If they lose Nov and Dec, then the next ad they make will be a public apology to gamers everywhere for 1) The spin in the last "Best selling console in America" advertisement, and 2) Making a poor console that yet again was beat by the competition. Also, the ad they create has to be transparent enough to not require any asterisks. There will be hell to pay if any asterisks are needed to interpret the ad correctly".
