XBOX360ATON! Ping Pong Pals (Rockstar) announced!

It hasn't got to do with abandonment though, it's just they spent time on this which they could've used on something else that will see the light of day in the future and far more people will actualy care for.

Bungie's upcoming XBLA game. Has to be, right?

Kobold did state earlier, that only one person had guessed the developer. In looking over the previous replies, that statement actually does narrow it down quite a bit.

The name that jumps out at me is Tim Schafer. A dark action game from Double Fine would certainly have me scratching my head.

Silicon Knights was only mentioned once as well.

Silicon Knights aerobics training featuring Kain.

The president thing gives it away, Dyack is the only president of a developer i can think of who does interviews and has a company people care about (though i personally dont).

But if it is a SK game, that means Too Human would be on the backburner AGAIN.

If its SK, I can only assume that this game they're working on is the one Sega is publishing. If this is some kind of Sonic spin-off bullshit..... then damn.

And that would tie into what Kobold was saying. People would be wondering why the hell they are working on this title when they should be crackin' on Too Human.

SK doesn't have any really big established franchises that too people would be pissed about them not working on. They've already announced Too Human, so..

Oh I know, it's just IGN wasting our time again. Nothing to see here, prepare to be letdown and a little confused.

Kobold said:
But I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself in my indignation, who knows it could be fun, but like I said...they could have been working on other stuff that people would actually have killed for.

And again, it's not guessable.

okay so basically the game is not guessable cos' its an really has a different concept/style/gameplay mechanics..etc and not based on any existing ip

and it's from a company who has an upcoming(announced or not) project that ppl would have killed for.....hmmm now the only thing i could think of is bungie's xbla project,(or some quirky xbl enabled kojima game)

Bizarre Creations!?

Don't think so. It is known that they are working on a new title and on their site they are giving away hints on what the game is about.

Click on the white dots to see the hints.

It looks like they are working on an fps... At least that is what concept pics and the shotgun shell? hint at. A new title it is. But also a non crappy title I guess.

I also expect the token 'defender' guy to praise it for it's total bombshell unexpectedness which he will tell people is making the game gutsy, creative and original. It might very well be since it's so....unexpected, but if people don't want it that wont mean a lot.

So anyone who might genuinely like the idea behind what's unveiled is a "token?" That's a little unfair, don't you think, to disregard any positive reactions beforehand?

I agree with the President angle. Would Kojima and Itagaki count as presidents? I think Kojima is pres of Kojima productions, not sure if Itagaki is pres of Team Ninja, though. Who else is a president of a gaming company that often does interviews?

I'm pretty sure Bizarre is working on Project Nightmare right now. They may have also started early stuff for PGR4.

Does Stinkles know what IGN is referring to?

No clue. I know a bunch of stuff, but not anything that matches Doug's lurid description. So I vote Iwata.

This is sounding more and more like a new IP. If that's the case, then this hooplah that IGN is stirring is stupid.

My guess is, it's one of these developers:

- Double Fine Productions (just because it's Tim Schafer who could always come up with some crazy ass shit)
- Rare (there's currently a IGN feature online with a lookback at Rare's current next-gen offerings)
- Bizarre Creations (they got some upcoming games and there's weird stuff going around there right now)
- Team Ninja (still have several unknown games in development)
- Silicon Knights (Dennis Dyack is actually entitled as the president of this company)
- Bungie Studios (their XBLA game)

Kobold, could you at least confirm if it's any of these developers?

Yea, I apolagize. It might rule of course! :)

(but i've said that before too though, every game has a token hardcore fan though who will stick with it through thick and thin on GAF)

Peter Molyneux is president of Lionhead (well, he's alternately referred to as founder, president or CEO). But it's not like they don't often float new ideas, so I'm not sure if it'd be so shocking for them to do something new (as opposed to, maybe, Fable2).

Those are certainly the best guesses, especially "What they could be doing" Matches both quite well.

it's got to be a sequel to..........Loom.

something you would've never, ever expected.

That would be my guess also.

On a side note, after reading IGN's interview with Duncan Botwood, it's clear that he needs to get the fuck out of the driver's seat over there. When asked what he would've done differently with PDZ, all he could come up with was that he wished they REMOVED half the multiplayer modes and made joanna look like she did in the first wallguy pictures. :/

Maybe getting rid of all the "talent" would've been better after all.

Well, Joanna did look cooler in the wallguy pictures. At least that was a complete comic book style look, as opposed to the hybrid nightmare that made it into the final game. He dodged the SP question, which I thought was weak. Then again, wasn't Duncan mostly in the driver seat for the MP?

I bet it's actually Final Fantasy XIII.

You kid, I hope.

Uness MS just purchased Square-Enix, we know this is a virtual impossibility. It would certainly push systems, but not milions of systems. Why kill their sales? Xbox is deader than dead in Japan.

This would be a plausible angle if it was going "multiplatform" instead of "exclusive."

I would say he is spot on with his multiplayer assessment. Deathmatch mode has been done to 'death', who needs it anymore in online gaming. Darkops mode is the mode everyone plays, because it is a cool twist on traditional online play. I agree with him that rare should have axed deathmatch mode and just work purely on Darkops. Hopefully this is a sign for PD2 that Darkops style play will get the main focus.

Dude, If that were real, I'd be fucking ecstatic. No joking or sarcasm. Loom is probably my favorite Graphic Adventure game of all time.

Yeah, the SP question was just ignored, he probably has no good answer. The most annoying thing about that interview to me was putting Banjo and Kazooie on the front page picture randomly with Kameo and PDZ. Just gets my hopes up for nothing.

The talent is at Rare, the games character art and single player direction were just wrong. For Perfect Dark 2, they need to go for a realistic look/serious tone/back to the kinda enemies you saw in the original, bring back her accent, kill her father off, kill off that girl who talks her through the levels, and bring back the challenges. Basically, the direction they took the game from an art/story perspective was poor, but the talent is there, multiplayer had some really fun aspects. Maybe they need somebody else in charge of the PD team or something?

Lets not derail this thead though, we need to focus on IGN's overhyped upcoming update. Maybe that Rare interview could use it's own thread (which we know will grow huge with Rare hate because we are infact at GAF). :p

Zelda PT going to X360 instead of GCN/Rev.

I would shoot myself. I have a 360 and enjoy it, but Zelda on anything but a nintendo system would force me to shoot myself.
