You can easily get a USB CD drive to connect to your PC. They're cheap and it's an easy way to enjoy CD soundtracks.

I'm with you on spending extra on Xeoblade stuff though. It and Fire Emblem are the only series I'll go the extra leg on (bought the FE3H soundtrack back when it came out too) so I jumped at the chance to grab these.

It doesn't help that I missed out on the XBC2 USB limited edition a few years back, which now costs a damned fortune and forever haunts me...

Here's to our reckless and irresponsible spending... and damn you Monolith Soft for having such good bloody music in your games

They are definitely in "cleaning house" mode, getting a lot of completed content released in the first half of the year.

June should have a big Direct where they reveal the next Phase for Switch, including several games for H2 2023.

I would be shocked if this is under 15 hours, given what we've seen in the trailers. This looks like it's 20-25 hour territory, at least.

Yeah, it's too close to TotK release. Some RPG sites might review this DLC but majorly of them won't.

Its not like I need reviews to tell me if this worth it or not. I LOVED XC3 and Monolith Soft does pretty good job with DLCs even better than Nintendo themselves.

I have physical copy of XC3 and got expansions pass from NA eShop.

I swear to god I hope it not same god damn issue I suffered with Mario + Rabbits 2 DLC. I couldn't access DLC because by mistake they made it for different region

It downloaded a file but it won't update. I thought it just wasn't updating because was trying to be clever. I disconnected from the internet after the download and moved my system's date forward a few days (just in case that might work lol.)

After connecting my switch to the net again it still won't install the update. Settings say XC3 is 4.9 gig install. I play with cartridge by the way, not a full digital downlad. Thing is I don't know what the install size was before.

If I look under "redownload" under XC3 in settings it says 500 meg is "update data" and 4.4 gig is "downloadable content"

When I fired up my switch it said an update was installed and was ready for release. I'm also at 4.9gb.

Did your version update? My version is still 1.3.0 after it downloaded but did not install update when I was mucking around changing the date and disconnecting my internet.

I also just compared it XC2 which is installed and played off cart also, and the install size for XC2 is 860 meg. Downloadble content is 668 meg and update data is 169 meg. Torna is not part of it because I have a physical copy of that also. So that 4.4 gig must be Future redeemed, although a little of it is probably prior dlc like the nopon champion and lapidarist hero characters. Googling Torna says it's 3.3 gig in size so FR is a bigger file size than torna and probably a bigger game although obviously it's not as simple as gigs = hours but still

I think even if its downloaded it won't install until the launch day. So if you don't have 4.9 gig downloaded yet or you do, we are all on 1.3.0 until 25th

I just checked my mistake, it is 4.9 GB but I never got the update...???

Probably finished downloading before you ever looked.

That update download that doesn't install itself on completion is just as stealth as the shadowdrop launch trailer.
 
I feel like a loser for not playing xenoblade 3 sooner...holy shit this game is incredible. I'm only like 12 hours in but man.....the combat, the vibes....coming off the back of Torna....It's so goood! and I thought Torna and the others were good too.

Monolith going from strength to strength.
 
Did anyone play Xeno 3 handheld only? I think I played it in its entirity docked on the TV. I'm going to be away when this comes out so I was going to take my switch with me - booted it up and loaded my last save and it looks..... a little ropey in handheld.

Gotta say, I think most are fine, but when Rex went 'I'll show 'em a thing or three' I needed to double check this wasn't some guy in some discord video doing a funny impression of 'old Rex'.
Just the audio quality alone when he says that sounds.. weirdly muffled. Eh.

I played entirely in handheld mode. Can confirm, it looks like shit the whole time.

Thankfully, I don't play these games for their great graphical prowess.
 
So what time does it unlock? Just checked the official Japanese Twitter, but still no info lol

I just realized it releases on the same day as Honkai Star Rail.. Oh no

Yep, total butt. And the frame-rate tanks into the high teens later in the game at times. Still loved it, but... boy does this game need a new console revision.
