Xenoblade Chronicles Rated by OFLC

Ah, the sweet sweet bitterness of Australia getting this but not NA.

I think we'll get it, Monado is still there! Just wait for E3 people. Even if it doesn't get released in NA (unlikely), I can always import it anyway. Hacked Wii ftw!

last I checked, Monado was removed.

As was Line Attack Heroes, which was still on the previous quarter's list as an upcoming US retail title over six months after its Japanese WiiWare release.

(yes, I'll keep repeating that fact every time someone cites those lists as credible evidence for a US release)

I stopped following Line Attack Heroess a while ago. These lists only tell you what's coming up soon. If it doesn't have a date, it's worthless. As a follower of Nintendo all my life, that's a fact you learn early

From my (admittedly poorly informed) impressions of this game, it's basically FFXII 2 right? If so, I want it so bad.

Hmm... were Last Window, Disaster, Another Code R, or Tingle released in Australia?
Disaster did, thats about it I believe out of those.

Also Hells Yes and Xenoblade coming to Aus, I'll prob still import from Zavvi through.

Does anyone have any impressions on the game? I looked online and it seemed to get good reviews but I wasn't really able to find more. Mainly what I'm wondering is if it's worth being hyped over.

Thanks for that. Sounds really good, I'll be sure to pick this up on day 1. Btw does anyone know if there is any backstory or connection to Xenosaga? I wasn't able to find a solid answer but it seems to be leading towards no.

They have no connection whatsoever other than the Xeno in the title.

Same creator, same basic themes he's fond of, no actual connection.

If Austrailia were to get this game, but North America would miss out?

It would set the standard for fucked-up precedents.

It would be a Disaster of epic proportions.

Sweet, I'm very much looking forward to this. I haven't played my Wii in over six months, maybe more. I should probably grab Kirby in the meantime to tide me over.

I think you guys seem to have become early-90's Europe... and we've become early-90's America. Approximately. Sure, there's the occasional aberration (for Terranigma, read Excitebots), but it looks like - for Nintendo at least - it pretty much holds out.

I just wish everybody would become 90's Japan finally.

Not nearly as good as some people would have you believe, but it's still a very solid game that's worth playing.
Well, that's your opinion! I think this game could be one of the best JRPG ever made.

Disaster is actually hugely entertaining in how ridiculous it is, yet backs the premise up with some varied objectives and play styles. Some of the most genuine fun I've had with a game in ages.
Not to rub it in or anything.

What's an M rating in Aus? 15+? Should really be rated E; there's no blood, no swearing, and mostly minor cleavage.

Yup. It's better than The Last Story IMO.

If NOE is doing an English translation it typically means NOA has passed on it. I'm not particularly optimistic.

There is blood. Well, at least in one cutscene
shortly after you get the Xenoblade
. The early cutscenes in general are pretty violent.

At least it's not an archaic turn based RPG...

Bu bu but don't you like your good old Japanese turn based RPG scaled up into HD, using horribly pre-rendered backgrounds, that wonky odd camera only Japanese game seem to use, and a user interface that's not even acceptable by the standards of 1999?

Yeah I'm still bitter about some parts of Lost Odyssey... >.<

I'll give Xenoblade's NA release until E3. If it aint announced then, I'm convinced it aint coming.

I agree with you here. However I wonder why Nintendo would show this to an American audience but not bring it over. It'll sell since there's a decent following of this game if I'm not mistaken.

Its english release is already confirmed though :P. I'll just assume you meant NA release.

Recommended for a Mature audience, no age given (at least not any more). Essentially it's equivalent to a T rating or PEGI 12.

As a general rule of thumb

Aus = US = EU = JP

G = E = 3 = A
PG = E10+ = 7 = B
M = T = 12 = C
MA15+ = M = 16 = D
RC* = AO = 18 = Z

Though of course the strictness of each rating varies a little given the slight age differences in each tier.

* RC stands for Refused Classification (AKA banned). Hopefully to be replace with a real R18+ soon.

All of them mediocre or lacking games, that are no huge loss.
Wrong, Disaster is rad. Got it for $15 and had a blast with it. The mountain compound stage alone made it worth it.

Xenoblade is one of the few RPGs where I actually look forward to doing battles and enjoy doing every quest. Such a good game.

Importing must be quite expensive for you guys though since our games are traditionally more expensive + shipping costs.

It's not amazing we're getting it. If it's localised for PAL, odds are we'll get it too, eventually. I fully expected a local release as soon as we knew Europe was getting it.

Hopefully NA get it too, and if not, they can learn to homebrew their Wii like a good Wii'er should.
