Xenoblade Chronicles X: NA Special Edition announced.

Since Amazon doesn't seem to want to ship the SE by launch, I decided to take a preorder at Gamestop.

No, I can't wait 4 more days.

Mine says it will be delivered on the 4th in NA at least?

You have me paranoid now though, they seem to be slipping on getting my games to me on release day so I will keep an eye on it.

Man just now saw that Amazon is not shipping the Special Edition by launch. Wish I saw earlier or I would have changed my pre-order. Looks like my only option to get it on release day is to see if Gamestop will take any more preorders.

Does anyone know if gamestop will be getting extra special editions for walk-ins? Would like to know for a friend. Was wondering because I was going to cancel my amazon backup since it finally shipped from best buy, and noticed GS no longer has a listing for it available. Thinking of just keeping my amazon order then if gamestop won't be getting any.

Hopefully a GameStop employee can chime in, but I doubt it. GameStops seem to always only get as many copies as were pre-ordered in situations like this. Hopefully I'm wrong, but that has been my experience.

Talked to the store manager that always hooks me up with stuff. He told me they already had their allotment in and unless there was a cancellation there werent extras.

freakin gamestop man!!!

I emailed them twice like "hey, I'd like to chance my shipping address can you please?"

they never responded me, now they shipped my SE to my parent's house,

who will be out of the country when it is expected to be delivered, and have thus put a stop to all incoming mail until they get back in January.

guess I wont be playing this game until early february lol.

So I received this today and noticed that the package comes without factory sealing and only has two stickers on the side of the box. Is this normal? Especially for a CE I figured it should come factory shrink-wrapped.

so from this tweet, the game that comes in the SE is different than the regular retail version:

https://twitter.com/johntv/status/672298418211971072

Reversible Cover and it says "Not For Resale" on the back

(similar to the version of Persona Dancing that came in its special edition).

SKU might be different too? Not sure, I'm only assuming at this point, I've not seen the game in store yet to compare...

but I was really hoping to pick up the game at the store today, and just return the one that comes inside the SE once I have it in hand.

February is a long wait ;_;

I regret buying special edition. Sorry 8-4. The USB bonus is trash. How could you?! The DRM is horrible. I should have bought regular edition and use extra money to buy Prima guide.

The game itself is awesome, your work on it is awesome. I really want to know who made this decision on the USB.

Just got my LE from amazon. Box got wrecked during transit. No protection in the box at all. Sigh. Time to get a refund.

The good news is that you can reformat the USB and use whatever space is available on it for other stuff. Nothing too fancy though, considering it can only hold up to 800 MB. 949, if you can manage to free up the other blocked space. :P

Im my case, I'm more than happy. Bought it mostly for the artbook. The artbook is huge and with tons of illustrations. The USB is a bit heavy which I like, looks nice and the 10 songs were a nice extra.

1. Format USB
2. Buy CD
3. Rip CD to FLAC
4. Copy FLACs to USB drive
5. ????
6. PROFIT!!!!!1111eleven

That's an odd size

:(

I got lucky with my Amazon shipment.

i fucked up

hopefully my friend gives me his receipt so I can exchange my opened copy for a sealed one and then return it to get my money back

I got mine from Gamestop; also wrecked as well.

I don't think the damage comes during shipping. I think there's a huge number of Xenoblade X special editions that were already damaged even before retailers shipped them out. It seems that orders from Amazon, Best Buy, and Gamestop have all had damaged CEs. It can't be all coincidental that shipping damaged them all.

I'd be OK with mine if the box and art book weren't wrecked. Where the box took damage my art book took the same hit. For $89.99 + tax I expected better. Still an awesome game but disappointed that the collector's value is ruined.

My first copy was damaged (shipped to my house), but I was lucky an my local Best Buy actually had one extra copy in good condition in back of the store to exchange for me.

It does seem a lot of damaged copies are out there. A real shame for something like this.

Part of the problem is the packaging is rather flimsy with no protection at all. It looks nice enough, but easily damaged by careless shipping monkeys.

The outer box is the flimsiest of flimsies and there is some dead area inside it that makes it even easier to crush/bend it with just normal handling.

I'm surprised your Best Buy one wasn't damaged from those corded things they like to wrap bigger games in that just dent up 4 sides.

I ordered 3 of them, 2 were crushed during shipment, amazon and best buy both decided to ship in a bubble mailer. The last one was in good condition, has a crease here and there, but generally good condition. The outer box is flimsy, and retailers choosing to ship using bubble mailers further destroyed any chance of it arrive in excellent condition.

The entire preorder stock that the closest gamestop to me got was beat up. Like major damage to one corner as if the box was dropped on it, and the other side just ragged, like they had been banging back and forth end to end in the box they were shipped in because of extra space.

The one I got shipped from Best Buy was actually in good condition though. Was in a box with just one of those air bubble things and looks fine other then some light scratching on the top and bottom edges from sliding back and forth.

DRM eh? It was probably mandated by those with rights to Sawano's music. They've been blocking youtube videos as well.

Got my special edition from Amazon. Outside of the game box damaged. Just some annoying creasing and minor ripping. Amazon refunded 30% because of it. I don't have time to goto a post office every time they damage a collectors edition. Seems like it's 50/50 if my collectors editions are damaged. Mostly it's minor stuff but I always make them refund me for it. Kind of getting old though.

Bestbuy shipped mine in a bubble mailer, so it was crushed. First bad experience I had with buying an LE/CE from them. I'm hoping the FE Fates LE comes in a more standard box shape so that they can't cram it into a bubbler mailer.

Its crazy with all rhe different variations in shipping, even with the same retailer. Got mine from Best Buy, came UPS, SE was wrapped in bubble wrap and had a couple of those plastic balloons in a box. Zero damage. I consider myself lucky.

That sucks. Best Buy usually sends my stuff in good packaging; Amazon's usually where I have my problems.

Got mine yesterday when I ordered it the day it was available on amazon. I almost never get delivery day of launch with nintendo stuff. Other games no problem. Kinda sucks for the price compared to GCU at bestbuy (price matched to walmart so I didn't have to go to best buy) and at almost double the price if not more I think I am returning it to amazon also.

Also the delivery came in a enterprise rent a car van with a fedex dude driving. What the fuck is going on with them. Also had a fedex delivery to a walmart for a new tv stand and it is 2 days late so far. That company is complete dogshit around here.

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones? My CE came from Amazon and it arrived on my doorstep the day after it came out. Zero damage despite no sort of protection.

Game is awesome too, well worth the day 1 purchase

Is it just me, or is the game title on the spine of the EU steelbook upside down?

Edit: as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EduItdjlqM&start=80

The title on spine is always upside down on European releases. I have no idea why, but it has been so at least since The Last Story, which was NoE's first steelbook I bought.

Probably because NoE is based in Germany. It's normal to have it that way in Germany.

So how do we get the music off the DRM locked drive again?

Also I really like that reversible cover. Same way I reversed Xenoblade Chronicles' cover.
