oh yes, I do like that if you talk to some NPCs before their sidequests you actually get some hints about them that help a bit during some sidequests.

Like, if you talk to an NPC called Suriella she mentions in a weird way how the lady in front of her was talking about her home on Planet Earth and then
during a sidequest you find out that she was a Definian spy all along

It's cute and also makes me want to speak to everyone after almost each chapter to see if their dialogue has changed.

I'm never going to finish this game T_T

NPC dialogue and location may change after any chapter, after any sidequest they may be even tangentially related to, or after any new alien races move in. Other than Kiseki I don't think there's any JRPGs on the market that I've played that handle NPC development so well.

Skell get and Chapter 7 down. Any good grinding spots to get to level 30? I really want to jump into Chapter 8.

Omg I got this for Christmas and I can't decide to play this or the first Xenoblade for Wii! I have both! Ahhhh!!

Depends on what you feel like playing right now.

Both have emphasis on exploration and combat, but the first game is more like a traditional RPG, where the story is the crux for the player's actions and leads you to one place to another.

X's emphasis on exploration is much bigger, combat has a lot more layers than on the first game, but the main story takes a backseat, instead you will learning more about the world through side-quests and just running around.

So just started, a stricker, sitting at lvl 10 now, what are the important things to know when the game opens up?

- Switch up your party often and try to do affinity missions as they come up.
- On the mission board, quests marked social tend to lead to new party members unlocking.
- Don't get too bogged down by basic missions. They don't run out as far as I've seen

Finished Phog 1st and 2nd Affinity Missions since I have like 3 points of affinity with him and finally went to Sylvalum... It's a very beautiful place but oh god the amount of high level enemies it's staggering.

And I legit didn't know that the white thing covering the ground were spores and not ashes since in one of the JP presentantion they called it "Land of White Ash" so i assumed it was covered in them from all the volcanic activity in Cauldros.

It's was already eerie and then I was surprised when there was some kind of spore storm and was like 2 shoted by a monster that I accidentally disturbed o_O

but the music at that place is to die for!

take your time, run fast and sneak around the high leveled beasties

what I did is run from probe point to probe point that way later I would have less deaths

that place is just about as dangerous as Cauldros if not more so

Are you saying that (Alien-nation spoiler)
I would have been better rewarded if I let that dude gun down all those Ma-non?

Well rewards are mostly the same, except for some you don't need to do extra tasks to complete the quest.

Actually I tried to reload the save and watch the dude killing all those manon lol, same rewards

Huh, one of the (alien race that joins NLA)
Cavern Prone
actually mentions the
ending of a certain Sylvalum camp side-quest and about knowing the antagonists involved there. I wonder if there could be a different ending if I had taken those Prones to NLA before the Sylvalum quest.

Although I guess not...

ok. chapter 10 is such bullshit. it doesn't let me heal inbetween rounds but the enemy gets all its appendages and its lifebar is full?

Chapters 9 and 10 were such large difficulty spikes that im going 10+ hours on sidequests before i touch another story mission. I wasnt having any trouble until those chapters. Also attack the dishes on his sides.

Going to try and forge an Arts TP Up XX. I can do crazy damage with a Sniper after some art stringing, but Sniper/Javelin builds TP sooo sloooow :/

That said, I'm in post game stuff now. After I get an Ares 90, do I even need good ground combat?

That rock and/or tree will destroy your party if you look at it funny.

You will thank me later down the line.

Thanks for the tip

Actually I was wondering about this, thanks for the tip, so I have to constantly swap party members to keep them leveled? Good to know.

I beat this guy for like 4 times already (he got slayin 240 times in BLADE total), this tyrant has like 100 million HP so it would take a long fight even with strongest build. A perfect enemy to test your ground build, it make xcx feels like monster hunter game.

Let me guess. Dual Guns + Longsword?

Don't you just love how you can't see AND THEN you walk right into a high leveled enemy? :D

Not reeeeeeally in my experience. When you're level 40+ killing higher level monsters, a level 15 guy is gonna be getting tons of experience per kill and they'll move up quickly.

Though if you intend to do affinity missions you will have to get all their affinity levels up, but there is apparently a post game feature that helps you get affinity quickly.

Found the entrance to Noctilucent Sphere. Walked in, looked at the monster, ran away.

Most people would have done the same - I wonder if it'd have been a better idea to have the tyrant be undetectable until approached, like the one in the lake in Noctilum. Though by the time you can access it, they'd probably guess what was going to happen anyway.

Also, the whole way the Noctilucent Sphere was set up inside reminded me so much of the Impact Crater in Metroid Prime. It'd probably have been impractical to do so, but some Metroids hidden somewhere as bonus enemies would have been a great easter egg - they could even reuse the Oc-serv animations.

LOVE THIS GAME and yes I bought it and wiiu solely on watching the YouTube vid in the previous threads title :p

So hey I got my first side quest but it's to find anhydrous radiators and I haven't seen them yet, is it something I buy from a shop? I'd Google but I'm avoiding spoilers

Nah its a regular item you find lying around in Primordia I think. Can't remember the specific region of the map though.

There are probably 100 sidequests where you are probably going to have to look up where the material/monster is. Looking it up isnt going to spoil anything.

An area located in the northwest part of Primordia called Stickstone Rise I believe...

After having this game almost for a whole week, I finally got my Skell. LET'S GO FOR A RIDE, BOYS!

Loving the game, by the way. <3

The second undiscovered cave near the giant sphere in Sylvalum actually has worse creatures than the sphere itself. Because theyre all lvl. 60 and aggro and will fuck you up.

I tried to run into the cave but I just met a wall instead. Whoops.

Welcome to Mira.
You see that rock? Its actual level 60. You see that tree branch? It can 1 hit KO you.

And I thought Noctilum was bad when every fucking bush turned into Venusaur

Yes you're still going to need a good ground combat build for a few tyrants that can't be reached with a skell. It's always fun to wreck things on foot anyway from time to time.

I got myself this with a bit of christmas money and uh
Wow
This game looks frickin' HUGE. Like, actually seriously dense, right from the outset.

So what exactly do Nopon sell? And can you buy animal ears or are they all earned from missions?

The Nopon AM produces thermal-attribute weapons with the sort of names you'd expect - Bangbangs and such. Sadly, there's no Nopon armour or Skell frames.

I think the ears are all mission rewards, though you might be able to get some from salvage.

Did you find the caravan in north oblivia? You might've picked up one of the nopon there that gives you the mission to
escort him to a prone camp to deliver supplies to them
.

Check your mission list.

It's pretty funny how steep an incline your character can run up. SO CLOSE to some of these spots that I think are Skell flight only.
