Xenoblade Chronicles X: Survival Guides

SHIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.

The joke here is that those are the standard VAs for japanese games.

EDIT: Wait a moment. The panel was the next day. Did you know something we didn't? ¬.¬ You're up there with the guy that predicted Bayonetta 2 being WiiU exclusive few weeks before it was announced.

The game also has other VAs for other characters, so maybe those aren't all options for the protagonist.

The soundtrack in these videos is so much better than the metal/rap songs.

Also, the indoor areas and the city really remind me of Disaster. Probably the general art direction, I'm not sure.

Strange how hype for this title has more or less completely died.

The music in the videos is the music from the game.

Also people who care about the game don't talk about it here because it would take less than 5 posts to bring out that kotaku article from the guy that also hated XC.

But did they cut the number of voice options too or are they just using the same VAs for multiple possible voice options (there are battle lines, after all)? The Japanese version of Fire Emblem IF only has one male VA and one female VA for the avatar, but each one recorded 5 different voice types.

I hope it's the latter, but considering it's NoA doing the localization I can see them cutting down the options they don't like or changing them into something different.

They went that far for battle voices?
I really wonder how much of the battle voices will be kept

I would rather they keep all the lines, I am watching the PAX video again
I believe the Japanese VAs for Melia, Reyn and Sharla were reused for MC battle voices too. There is a section of the website that had a list.

I hope getting a bunch of returning English VAs is feasible but since Melia's has moved on to Doctor Who we may not have been able to get them all. Fiora's an Alvis' VAs were in Dark Souls 2 so they might've been available to return.

Most likely each VA for the avatar will do multiple voices, but maybe not as many as the JP version just because it got a bit ridiculous.

this will get old really fast I feel

the Talk - PAUSE - BEEP - Pause - Select Choice - Pause - Talk

seriously I did not notice how annoying this will get

edit: remove the menu sound should fix it, if they have an Option to turn the menu sounds off I'll do that

It might be annoying when just watching the game passively, but I can imagine it's not when you're actually playing the game because the feeling of being able to have input in the conversations will be really enjoyable. You'll still feel immersed because it'll be like time completely stops; the lights are all on you; it's time for you to decide what to say/think!

What makes it even more immersive is that the characters will say different things depending on your choice, which is demonstrated in that video you posted. And characters will also comment on what you did and what they thought of your choices back in the BLADE barracks!

fair point, will still look for a menu volume :)

still, all those great voices were wasted

let the avatar speak the choices it is not that hard other games do this all the time
I wish they had a story reason like you lost your voice while in that pod

oops I was about to type a spoiler lol

does choices change the story paths at all?

Guys, this is someone saying what he hopes is in the game. Not what is actually in the game. Confirming false right now.

There is a good variety of actors on both male and female sides. Not up to us to reveal who etc so please let Nintendo decide when and where to release that info. But the quoted stuff above wasn't discussed at the PAX panel, so let's kill it dead here. :)

Awww, so Adam isn't confirmed? :(
But it's good there will be a larger cast.

Yeah, didn't think it was true. A bit of a bummer to hear there's no Howden. I guess all I'm hoping for now then is more VA choices than the usual Troy Baker, Jhonny Bosch, and Yuri Lowenthal. Their VA can sound so hokey (no offence) and you hear their VA in pretty much everything.

I shouldn't really be complaining, though. Can't wait for this game.

So this:

A guy from Treehouse said it during a PAX (IIRC) panel few weeks ago.
Also I was mistaken, it's 3 female VAs. For male protag: Troy Baker, Johnny Yong Bosch, Yuri Lowenthall, Adam Howden, Liam O' Brien. For female protag: Laura Bailey, Michelle Ruff, Jennifer Hale.
Was a lie? :(

How did you read that comment and get that the guy knew how many VAs are in the game when he said it was his hopes/dreams

As long as one of the Female voices options is Fiora and one of the male voices is Shulk / Dunban everything will be fine =P
