Wow I was hyped for 2 seconds. I loved XIII even with its flaws. Eve's performance was cool as well and killing KKK-style enemies with a crossbow is still so satisfying.

From Anuman Interactive's FB page in response to the "why isn't it an FPS" comments.

According to the will of Dargaud (the editor) and the authors from the comics XIII, we created an interactive adventure game to get close too the story (characters, places, design, actions, plot...). It's an adventure made for people at large, just like the books.

Still wish we were getting a direct FPS sequel. Don't see why it couldn't have what they listed off.
